I figured while I'm taking a break from my work routine I'll post here, while I'm thinking about it. In my '00 TL, the dome light doesn't work, and it never has in the ~3 months that I've had it. I've checked all the fuses in general, none of them are bad.

The bulb also looked good, and a replacement bulb did not work either. Is there some way I can test the connections in the dome light assembly? Maybe a wire is bad or something?

 

do you have a 12 volt test light or a multimeter- free with harbor freight coupon ~
can be a door switch sticks or failed
switch at light itself
test bulb was known good right before test?

a couple of screws gets access to the power wires behind light fixture

 

In a pinch you can connect test leads, or a pair of random wires to your known good bulb... and use it as a "hot check" light.

Lights up, you have power.

 

Pry open the dome, check if the metal part of the switch touches when it should, if not you have to bend either metal.
