considering some of our cars are almost ten years old, does your TL turn heads still? i was taking my car in for service and a guy in his thirties, in a 2009 TSX loaner, flags me down on the off ramp and tells me that my TL (2002 TL-S)was the nicest TL that he's seen around.
has anyone gotten comments like this? most of the time, everyone asks about my paint and if its custom. i say nope, its all stock
so what do people say about your 2G?

only serious mods ive done are a custom pearl white paint and im sittin on some 19" works and people break their necks all day lookin at my car... I could imagine the looks jjasha gets sittin on the ground with that camber in the rear

hehe I get comments all the damn time. Random people come up to me and ask me so much questions. Its pretty awesome cause I drive off with a fat ass grin on my face.

 

I get stares and thumbs up all the time, or people coming up and asking me about it. Im the only 2g TL fixed up in my area, so it gets a lot of attention.

Went over well at the King Motorsports meet too

surprisingly the question i get asked the most over anything(besides how big are your rims)... "what kind of car is that?" of course my trunk is shaved and my grill has no emblem but I thought most people would be familiar with the car.. I was wrong theyre all confused.

ive gotten a few of those. anything from older M3s to swapped civics. even my buddy's 67 302 mustang lol

 

I get hated on alot down here cause mines look better than theirs.

 

the only time my car turns heads is when people are looking at my stalled POS in the shoulder cuz my tranny fell out my car!

 

mostly compliments from my friends. A lot of people I know hate how I have the inspire trunk "H" and inspire "H" grill because they argue that a Honda doesn't compare to an Acura

 

ive only gotten a couple back in the olden days. mostly "what year is that?!" "is that a new model?" and my favorite "whoa, that thing looks stealthy"

my friends give me "i love that color" "your car is gunna look so sick" "its so fast" and my girlfriend always says "this car doesnt look like its this fast"

 

"everytime i hit the corner i be turning heads, i be turning heads, i be, i be turning heads, who?, Mike Jones"....i get compliments all the time especially when i got my dubs on ....and at the bank the customers always say to me "thats your car out there right, thats nice" becuz they know damn well none of the women there or Manager be driving a pimped out TL...

 

2G is still turn my head, at least mine does
But I gotta admit 3G looks better and 4G has grown on me big time.

 

My 1st gen still turns heads and it is 13 years old! I get questions and compliments all the time about, whether I am at work, driving, or walking into it.

It gives me a good feeling when I see and hear people appreciate the time and effort that I have put into my car.

 

^agree with the 3G, 4G...not so much. if it had a normal grill maybe...

mine....doesn't turn heads...yet..hopefully...

 

i get asked if my ABP is a custom paintjob, especially after i give her a good detail job. plus with my drop and lip kit, i get stares all the time. love it

 

Give it the full detail with claybar-then several compounds and pads with the UDM orbital buffer, final polishing to get the last micro swirls ---
so its better than new, all topped off with a spray on carnuba-synthetic blend wax to protect your hard work for 3 more months

i used to get tons of looks last year and compliments.. not so much this year.. can't wait till i put my mods on and drop it some more

 

although i need a new paint job and stuff i get alot of comments too

 

lol I two people coming up to me and ask.. in the past few years...interestingly, my parents used my car for a week (I was using the Camry), they had two occasions where people went up to them and asked questions.

 

i get heard from a mile away beause of my alpine type x's and have ppl covering there ears when they be crossing the street in front of my car or even when i fly by... but lotz of ppl give me compliments on the sound of the intake

 

I was shocked how different and better the car looked after claybar and paint cleaners etc--it was a different color- LGM is dark grey-green-changes with light and angle...looks 2 shades lighter after cleaning and protecting

 

My car only turns some heads, because I keep it shineyyyy , other than that no

But it still turns my head, when I walk away, I always glance back at it

Mine turns a few heads, im the only 1 around here with mods on a 2g, its all old people & they look at me with a WTF face especially when they hear the system and exhaust. Then theres all the little ricer civics, tegs, and accords that wanna run me and think cuz my cars bigger than theirs that it wont stand a chance.

 

i think were all guilty of staring back at our cars lol. i think tanker trucks provide the best rolling stares

Mine doesn't really turn heads even with the ATLP dualies... cuz there's a UA7 Type S Aspec two parking spots down with ATLP quads It turns my head every day lol

and to make things worse, I intern at a subaru performance shop and my car sounds like a prius compared to everyone's wrx/sti... fail.

 

Someone asked me what a TL-5 was because I have the 3rd gen type s badge...kinda looks like a 5 I guess

 

i turn a lot of heads, with my blacked out front and always shinny clean paint job, HIDs and LEDs shinning. i guess you don't come across blacked out NGM TLs too often.

people always wana race me, idk why. i get a lot of compliments as well mostly from all my VW buddies and i also get flamed as rice by my hick buddies for driving anything import even if its 100% stock.

all and all a clean 2nd gen TL will always turn heads, i dont care how old they will get, its the best looking TL ever made.
