Does the new tranny require break-in?
Does the new tranny require break-in?
My service manager at the dealer said that the new tranny did not require a break-in since the engine had already been broken in. Yet, just to be safe, I'm taking it easy for the next couple hundred miles. Did any of you replaced tranny folks get different advise from the dealer? Break in or no break in?
On a related topic, I asked about the rumored particles in the tranny fluid causing failures and whether or not it was a good idea to change the tranny fluid. He said that Acura has not mentioned anything like this, and the transmission fluid change is not necessary. Any thoughts on this, or anybody hear any different?
Otherwise, my car is great, and I am happy again!

OK Smelly! You are back too! GREAT!
I think I am taking it easy on the car right now, probably out of fear(!) of losing it again.
Somehow, I think this new batch of trannys will be OK.
So, does this mean that all of us are back on the road? What about Dr.Bear, Mr.T, Nate......?
