ctech exhaust with the aem intake

below 3000rpm, will the sucking sound of the intake be reduced at all?

Nope not really. Below 2500 you hear the slight rumble of the exhaust and the slight hissing of the intake. 2500-3500 the exhaust has a slightly deeper tone (but not by much). Above 3500 or so the intake's sound overtakes the exhaust's sound.

is the sound made by a comptech exhaust and the CAI really present? i was thinking about purchasing both but i don't want my TL to sound like every damn civic fart muffler setup out there. anyone have .wavs of what the sound is like?

exhaust: is it deep V8 like sound or is it fart muffler civic I4 sound?

It's deep growling rumble and a sweet sound at idle. I love mine. It can't sound like a 4 cylinder cuz it isn't

There are 2 .wav files on the Comptech page of Acura-TL.com but they don't sound as good as in person.

thanks for the info and links. sorry to stay off topic but what gains can be expected with exhaust / CAI? anyone notice much change in accel or cruise performance?

mr tl: again, sorry to be off topic but when i get them installed (maybe this weekend) i'll be sure to let you know!

You gonna cut out the openings for vents on those black plastic cutouts on your bumper? I never see it stated to do that, but when my CAI arrives I plan on cutting some openings..

Your CAI will get dirty enough without cutting those openings...
