Does anyone knows how TCS work ?

Hi guys ,
We have a lot of snows lately in Montreal , Canada and my TSC had been activate
a lot lately .Last week I found out my TL-P 02 pull a bit to the right on a perfect straight road ...but today by accident a push on the TSC button which disengage the system and the car drive perfectly with no pull at all ?!?!?...
Is my TSC need care 'cause front rignt brake pad might got jam or stuck ???
Anyone knows how the TSC works and what to do for the maintenance .
Appreciate any feed back.

TCS uses the brake (in abs mode) to controll wheel spin. turning it off shouldnt have made your car go straight.

The TCS is only active when there is wheel spin (thats when the light on the dash flashes and you can feel and hear it like abs) If your just driving its not working and it wouldnt be causing any thing

While there is wheel spin , what will pump the brake to control the car ?
Will this kind of pump get jam somehow or malfunction to the point to
jam the rotor a bit ????

if the system or a brake was jamed turning the tcs off wouldnt undo it. It only works when there is a difference in wheel speed between wheels and only up to 20mph

It defaults on every time you start your car. Just leave it on (unless your stuck, on a hill with ice, or plain just know how to drive with out it on so that it doesnt hinder your style)

I know how TCS works...it works pretty bad.

I drive in the snow, in the mud and in the snow with mud. I always get stuck or slide with TCS on. Turn it off and I drive fine.

Not all tl's have VSA.

And the acura TCS is a joke. its the worst tcs system ive used. and its also pointless that its not all speed and shuts off after 20mph in the tl-p

yea if you cant control your car when your goin under 25mph you should be riding the bus.

i nearly spun out goin 70 and i had the traction control off and just swang it and and pulled it straight back into the lane. i was nearly sideways on a two lane road...luckily there was no one comin the other way....

Is there a TCS bypass mod?

If not, perhaps a time delay relay that sends a momentary contact closure to the TCS controller when the car is started...then just remove the TCS indicator light wire from the harness?

Too much of a pain. A time delay relay would check for voltage from IG-II, wait a few secs, do the momentary contact closure (simulating pushing the TCS button), and trip a holding circuit until voltage loss from turning off the engine...then repeat each time you start the car. To prevent the stupid TCS indicator LED from constantly being on, I assume you'd just yank the wire out of the dashboard harness.

Kris, recently I was turning out of a roadway with a really big dip, and I took it an an angle causing one of the front wheels to lift off the ground as the car came out. Since I was pressing the gas, when the wheel came off the ground TCS activated and it felt like the engine shut down for a second.

I've always doubted TCS's ability to cut engine power, but this shows that maybe it can? The RPMs dropped and the car sort of stalled out for a second (TCS light was flashing) until the wheel touched the ground again.

It can't cut power quite like drive-by-wire can, but it does feel like the computer retards ignition or something.

you wouldnt need drive by wire to cut power, simply cutting the amount of fuel and spark to the engine would retard power alot

Then that sounds just like what happens. You'd think it would be more effective.
