Post Does Any One Raced with BMWs??

I wanna know anyone beat BMW's vs TLS?

Hehe.. well, this saturday night I raced with my friend who owns BMW 318, 1996. He told me BMW is the better than mine. It was like a 3:00 AM in the morning. We stopped on a stop sign where it is 35 mile zone in va. I started my accelation and but he jumped fast but my TLS kick his speed virtually 2 cars ahead, it was about 60 Miles and i thought it was over so i stopped accelation but he was still going and i accelated one more time at that time he was just infront of me, when I reached 80 Miles. My TLS easily ran over him and i went over 100 miles. All of my friends were amazed, because no one thought TLS was faster than BMW. I wonder if i keep accelated my car. I would killed him virtually 100 feet.. What do you think guys?

Remember, a 318 has a 1.8L 4-cylinder.
A 2001 330i is a pretty close match for the TL-S, from what I have read. BMW makes up for slightly less power with exceptional gearing and of course the better cornering due to RWD.

Not to burst your bubble, but It's no big deal beating a 318I unless it has some serious mods. The 318 was never considered a fast car. I would think you would roast it hands down. If you went up against a 330 or a 530 then that's a different story.

I don't know why there would be any question whether you could beat it. It's a 4 banger w/ like 10 hp.

But it's always fun to kick someone's ass no matter what they're driving.

The point is that, my friend who owns BMW 318, he told me he will beat me any time. but instead he lost. Well, TLS is exceptionally fast and it loads its speed at various time. Today, he told me that my car is clearly faster and never thought that Acura is that fast. Well. I like my car. Silver Satin TLS with NAV.

I think the TL-S has a very good power to weight ratio. For such a large vehicle the 3.2L engine is set up very well. I had a '99 TL and it felt a little heavy compared to the Type S.

As for a comparo with a Bimmer. I did recently have a little showing off with a 330 around some very tight turns at reservoir near where I live. The 330 handles extremely well! The TL-S is really not bad. Rear drive addicts will probably flame me for this, but we have more control under extreme power. I had no drift except for the understeer while pushing my Type S to the edge. I would rather have that than have the rear end break free like my buddy. It was quite amusing watching his car twitch back and forth avoiding a wall.

By the way if anyone is wondering, we turned off the traction control on both vehicles while doing this.

Stick on some sticky tires and really have some fun.

Comment:

I've probably driven a rear wheel drive car longer than FWDs. I can do more with a rear wheel in the dry, than I can with a FWD.

If a driver knows what to do with the overseer, they can kick your rear in. A car is always faster on the brink of oversteer (I'm talking about very slight oversteer).

I also notice that the Bimmer's I've met up on Mulholland drive were sliding around like crazy, while I drove them crazy. I made a AMG Mercedes CLK55 pull over -- the driver was all over the road -- very sorry site.

I did run into a couple of WRXs up on Mulholland, and they were great drivers (didn't know them), but they gave me the best challenge to date.

The suspension is really good in these cars. Put on some serious Max Performance rubber and you will scare yourself!!!

I have been hunting and no one wants to race. For some reason when I had my 93 Integra LS, 4 door, 5 spd, everyone wanted a piece of me. The only race that was anywhere near comepetitive with my TL-S was with an AUdi 2.8 A4. When I hunt someone down I will definitely post the result.
