Does AC disengage at WOT?

When you really punch the car does the AC clutch automatically get de-energized or do you need the foresight to turn off the AC? I believe I feel it disengage...

It does...once your ECU detects WOT, then it saids the kill signal to the AC compressor to prevent burnout. But if you know your going to race somebody, I would turn it off because it takes the ECU like anywhere of .5 seconds to compute and send the cut off signal.
