DIY TL window regulator driver rear
Tools needed:
Philip screw driver
10mm socket
10mm wrench(optional)
an 3/8 extension(optional)
Actually I was not going to post this due to its easiness, but my installation was a bit different from some youtube instruction which does not say important tips and hope that it can help diyers..
1.remove the 2 screws and pull it toward arrow
2.disconnect the link
3.disconnect the connector
4. remove the white cover
5. connect the connector again(step 3), lower the regulator and remove
the 2 bolts.(10mm each)..You may want to use the 10mm wrench for the hidden bolt or lower the regulator if you do not have the wrench
6.disconnect the connector again and pull the window up and tape it so the glass does not fall down
7. remove all the bolts, take the regulator out and transfer the red circled bolts to a new regulator before installation.
8. Now this is most important step
you need to connect the 2 connectors from pic 3 and 5 to the new regulator and lower the regulator like the old regulator before putting into the door
.
the installation is reverse
put the regulator into the door, do step 7 first and then step 5.

Yeah, thanks for taking the time to detail the steps for the window regulator motor assembly.
The pics really help to see and show the process better. Good job !!!

I followed these instructions to help get me through this job recently. (I have a '99 TL.) One thing that was different was that the regulator was already in the down position, so I didn't have to reconnect the switch to lower it. Not sure if they always package it this way now, but it made things a little easier.

Old DIY thread, but still helpful these years later! I thought there were a few more window regulator replacement threads floating around, but this is the only one I could find with photos. Not a difficult job, but made much easier by beforehand seeing a few photos of which bolts to pull.
Thanks for posting!
