DIY: alternate fog DIY with 01-03 civic fogs
i wanted to bring this to the forums attention immediately because there was something with the other DIY's i did not want to perform, and that is cutting part of your frame out =/
so this is my DIY. its exact same as the others but more simplified.
1. buy 01-03 Civic Fogs on ebay ($45)
2. remove bumper
3. cut out the corner pockets, the whole thing from the sides of it and not just the top.
4. place fogs over pockets for exact fitment and adhere the fogs down with adhesive of your choice. im not going to tell you which ones since there are hundreds of types which can do they job.
5. fill in gaps between fog and bumper with black silicon and smooth it in with your finger(do not worry about it smearing all over because silicon is easily removed)
6. wiring is exact same as other DIY (refer to DIY links)
the reason i did this DIY is because:
1. no need for cutting metal frame of the car(thick metal)
2. much cleaner when you mount the fogs and no bondo is necessary
if anyone is confused, ill take pics if i can tommorow.

they are already done visually, didnt have an fuse for switch last night.
by any chance anyone know what current fuse i need for the switch? there is no plug to the fuse box so you have to run it to the battery.

and notice how it barely touches the frame (the part you have to cut out with the accord fogs). it comes really close but as long as you line the fogs with the dam correctly, itll be fine

Hid Possible??
I really don't know much about HID fogs. Is it possible or what would I need to get HID fogs beside a HID fog kit? I plan on doing the HID but not sure exactlt where to start.

thanks for comments guys.
inspireTL - you cant see those chips at all since its on the underpart of the bumper, but ill try and paint it with my factory paint can to get practice.
hockeyman - thanks a lot, they took a lot of trial and error and is actually my hardest mod believe it or not (fitment issues) here are some closer shots http://myspace.com/avant88
fl3.2TL- your welcome, it was my pleasure. i really wanted to post this up quick before any other person went ahead with the damaging of the frame. i for one was real skeptical about it and wanted to avoid it at all cost.

hmm. well try this. check if the plate on the fogs are large enough to fill in the gaps of the dam. but im thinking it just might since they both use the same fog light housing.

vzuptnguyen.
did you set this up so that the fogs shut off off with high beams ons?.
i want to do this mod, but i also want to be able to get thru inspection.
it's easy enough have them only come on with headlights on.
but did you wire them to shut off with high beams?

famuseface - i think the only bulbs that can achieve HID like colors are ultra white ones. you can check ebay for them.
joseph - i dont have 9005 high beam bulbs. i integrated regular 74/194(door light) bulbs into the 9005 bulb housing. i did this to achieve a DRL (daytime running lights) look, as you see on all the mercedes, lexus, and most of the new cars nowadays.

yea those are the bulbs, and i use hot glue... a lot of it. its been months and it has still held up. i use the RTV to act as a filler, like bondo, for cosmetics on the outside.

do the lights brighten up the ground alot more? Visibilty better with the fogs, or are the fogs just for the "look" and dont really project much light?

from the inside of the car, i cant see shit. but from outside, u can tell they light the ground. but the HIDs overpower the tiny h11 fog bulbs. in short, its for looks.
