I recently bought a Passport 8500 (didn't want to spend the additional 100 or so for the V1) Anyway, I want to direct wire the detector to the fuse panel. My question is has anyone direct wired with the remote display/smart cord setup? I really like the ease of muting the alert with the smart cord lighter plug in and noticed they sell a direct wire with the same setup. I was curious where/how you ran the wire and mounted the detector and also where/how you mounted the smart cord muting/alert display housing on your TLs. I did some searching in past posts and found some info on running the wire up the A-piliar, but no mention of mounting hte remote display.

I got a 8500 Passport, I just ran the wire down the A-Pillar to the 12V in the center console.
