Question Diffuser in Headlight

I was wondering if anyone here has cleared out their headlights and removed the diffuser? After I had cleared out my headlights I realized that taking out the diffuser would have been pretty cool, because I don't like that oldschool diffuser look.

Anyway, does anyone have insight about the difference in the projection of the headlight without the diffuser?

Someone did it before and it turned out to be the most stupid thing you can do. If you want to go ahead and try it. It will mess up your beam pattern.

Yeah, I heard that it really messes up the beam patter. What I was wondering was if I could just purchase the diffuser to use in my Accord's headlight. Since, I have an aftermarket HID kit I wonder if it might make the beam pattern better.

If anyone is going to leave the diffuser out I will take it

Ive taken my difuser out of mine and I personally like it. It gives the light a sharper and brighter color. Yeah it did alter the beam more like a " w " pattern. My friend with a TL like the look of mine after the difuser was taken out so we did it to his too.

A diffuser is the plastic lens type thingy in your headlights. If you look at a CL, you can see that the CL doesn't have a diffuser.

AFter you took out the diffuser, how was the light projection affected? I was planning on removing my diffuser if the light projection wasn't affected much.

For those who are still confused about what the diffuser is, here are pics of my headlights with and without the diffuser:

With diffuser

Without diffuser

It does look cooler without the diffuser, but I don't recommend it. It is very annoying and unsafe when driving at night. Without the diffuser, you get a sharp bowtie-shape projection onto the road. There are spots where it is very bright and spots where there is hardly any light at all (right in the upper middle where you need it most).

Don't make the same mistake I did. It was A LOT of trouble to put the diffusers back in.

Thanks so much for the info, bc I would be mad at myself for going through all the trouble to put back the diffuser. Sorry you had to go through all that. However, w/o the diffuser, the headlights look really good.

w/a hyper light to the left and one to the right... your lights look actually better w/the diffuser..
meaning:
i have hypers in my blinkers and my brights, so when looking at my car head on, i have blue on the left of the real HID and the right, so i actually like that look, that way the middle diffuser separates it.
you guys mentioned the cl has no diffuser... so how is there projection still the same as ours... if it is?

I want any used diffusers out there. I want to try and correct my HID pattern in my retro fitted Accord

TommyAmrani,
The CL has a different system than ours. They have what is called a multi surface reflector. If you look at our reflector behind the bulb, it looks like a smooth bowl. It doesn't do anything to disperse the light evenly. That's what our diffuser does when the light hits it. The CL's reflector is made up of many surfaces at different angles. So when the light hits the reflector, it disperses the light evenly. No need for a diffuser with this type of reflector. That's why our lights look a little hazy compared to other HID systems.

I'm hoping that the facelift for the new model will have the multi surface reflectors so that we could replace ours with the new one. Hope they will fit too. Group buy, anyone?

Cool

I think it looks better without the diffuser, but if it screws up the lights, then leave that bad boy in...
