Question Differential fluid

Just passing 22k miles...reading up and getting ready for the 30k DIY fixer-upper.

Flushing the coolant system and transmission seems easy enough...

However, what's the deal with this differential fluid? Can't find any info for it on the board, let alone how to change it.

If I remember from my R/C car, I think the differential is that thing which lets the drive wheels spin independently and lets the engine slip.

RE: Tranny fuild changed not needed

I believe in the acura manual it say up to 60k and then every 30k after that but hey you could always replace with Mobil 1 synthtic ATF. It is suppose to give smoother shifts.

I thought FWD cars used a transaxle, single unit tranny and diff. So the same ATF circulates through both plus the torque converter.

mdaniel...you're probably right. I couldn't find any info on this, so I guess the ATF handles it all.

He is right....ATF (automatic transmission fluid) handles it all.

first of all the diff is in the trans. second only use honda atf, otherwise you will end up with trans problems. you could go to 60 + miles, but with the trans problems that the tl's and cl's have already, why go that far. spend the money now on a simple atf change and hope that you wont have to pay for a trans later.
to the last guy who changed his t belt??? sounds like you have other probs besides the trans. t belt aint going to fix your trans problems

Mobil 1 and Honda certified ATF additive is ok too

always use honda atf additive with any store bought tranny fluid
