Differences between years

I was just wondering if there were any changes between the 1999 TL and the 2000 TL models? For example, the 2002 models have memory seating which are absent in previous years.

I heard that the 2000 added a 5 speed transmission and side air bags. Can anyone verify this? I'm thinking of buying a used TL and would like to know what I'm missing out on if I go with an earlier year.

No offense taken, however, I prefer the '99 TL. We had two TL's, a '99 and an '01, and had to trade one in on a new MDX (for the wife), and I chose to keep the '99. I personally like the 4 sp tranny over the 5 sp. I use the sport shift alot, and I don't like having to get through 5 gears instead of 4. Too much shifting. I do not have the navigation, nor need it, and the side airbags are a nice feature, but certainly not a selling point for me.

Now, the '02 has some nice feature upgrades, including the memory seats and the six-disc in-dash CD changer. To me, this year was an important model upgrade. JMHO.

I agree with the guy above me ^. I use SS a lot on my 99 and I think it would suck to have to switch another gear. I wouldn't mind the extra 2 mpg but after all it's only 2 mpg... DVD navi is cool but I dont mind getting lost in a nice car!!!

The only other year I would get is the 2002 model as it's got some cool looking headlights(some ricers think their tooo coool)
