Normally when the Tranny is Out = MIL (Check Engine) + ! Triangle + VSA Will turn On... If only VSA or ! Turn on is something else.

Get da´CODEZ!

I doubt it is a loose gas cap when my cap is loose the car drives for a little than dies I have to wait a little then it starts back up. When you say you take your foot off the gas and it moves a lot faster do you mean it starts speeding up on its own or it justs doesn't slow down? And if it were me test driving it one last time I would be driving it like I stole it to make sure nothing happens

Exactly you need to find out what those codes are. They can come out with a million excuses put codes don't lie most of the time

The check engine and the ! was on.....

Regarding the person that said "find a way out of this", unfortunately there just isn't at this point. Paperworks gone through, put the money down. I'd appreciate if those kind of suggestions stopped and productive ones were given only. If I could do it over again I'd walk away from any TL, but I'm not going to sit here and moan - I'm going to find the best solution possible. And that seems to be as diligent as possible and not let them bullshit me when it comes to the check engine lights.

Best way I can explain it is this - You're in drive. Foot on the brake. As with any car, if you let off the brake the car slowly starts to crawl. That crawl seemed alot faster than any other car I've been in.

Alright..just curious because besides that I didn't notice any weird clunking/shifting. Just felt like an automatic car...(which I'm not used to - only owned manuals).

At this point, they're just frustrating me. They're website says they have a 24 hour buyback for EVERY car, yet they tell me its as-is. I feel like I'm getting bullshitted, its frustrating. I'm definitely not letting this go and I'm not going anywhere until I'm fully satisfied with their "fix".

There are to many unscrupulous dealers out there unfortunately you may have gotten stuck with one the only thing I can say is hopefully it works and keep pressure on them to fix it. Also use words wisely as soon as you might mention getting a lawyer to pressure them sometimes they will say ok get one. Most of them figure you don't want to pay legal fees and the time wasted with it. Hopefully the car works out and you don't have to many problems and it works out

To be honest, I did alot of research on dealers in my area. This is hands down the least sleaziest I could have gone to from what I've seen. I mean the location itself is beautiful, they're showroom is gorgeous. It's confusing for me because the people seem like genuine people. I've always took pride in my ability to read people.

I know how nice the place is has no correlation to the sincerity or honesty of the people within...but I think I made a pretty good choice considering my area.

Lets hope I'm right. Once again I appreciate all the help you guys have given so far. Hoping my entrance into the TL community is alot less dramatic than it has been so far.

The place looks good but remember they are there to make money. If you get it and have any more problems we can always try to give you advice/help the best we can. Good luck and hope you enjoy it if you keep it

Yeah I think what I was missing is one what simple statement to them. They guaranteed me that that problem would be fixed. I want to know for sure that if the SAME problem pops up again, they are going to fix it. That will at least cover that portion. I'm hoping for the best, I'd love for the car to not have transmission problems - it would make my life easier as I really need a car at this point. Having to get rides to/from work has been a huge hassle. Lets hope the test drive goes well, and I'll be much more aware/prepared for it now.

Well, bought the car. Test drove it for 20 minutes, no problem. Drove quite a bit last night and I have to say the car feels/drives better than alot of things I've driven. It's a one-owner, clean carfax. Looks like carfax shows some computer work done, is there any reflash for the ECU related to the transmissions?

Thing seems to be driving perfectly. Interior is 9.8/10, very impressed with the overall quality of everything.

Yes there was a Change in the ECU to Band Aid the tranny Problem.
That was with the Recall, Theres a Sign that shows the Re-call was done to change the car tranny?

It's not a flash of the ECU, it's a replacement with an updated version. The ECU on the 2nd gen TL is not flashable so in order to update any of the code it needs to be replaced. Some of the tranny swaps included a new ECU as well. Any other evidence that the tranny was replaced? Blue bolt heads around the tranny being the most likely indicator ...

I'll have to check. Been spending alot of time in the car the last few days, I have to say I definitely appreciate the interior. It seems very well setup, is in almost perfect condition, and fits four people comfortably. Its decently quick too, surprisingly. Upgraded suspension + brakes are a must though IMO.
