Did anybody Install TURBONATOR

Hi Guys,
I was wondering that if someone from the forums has installed the turbonator and if so does it make a difference. Is it safe to install it ?

i rememer this topic from back in the days, when some guy claimed his father owns the company, but when we asked for a free turbonator for a dyno test, the guy vanished.

They started selling this stuff at every auto store now, and ppl are buying them up.

Anyone wants to dyno it? lol Im not wasting 70 bux on something that probably does more harm than good.

This has been tested by Consumer Reports and proven to be a WASTE of money. In some cases it actually DECREASED power.

And lets think about it... if something that cost $70 improved power AND fuel economy with no supposed penalty.. don't you think all the auto manufacturers would be using it?

You're joking...please tell me you're not serious!!! I hate to think anyone reading this forum could be so ignorant they'd believe this stupid device is legit. It's unbelievable how the power of advertising can influence even normally intelligent people.

This is a copy of the tornado. They were the company that invented it. One of those wouldnt find the Acura TL's anyway because of the shape of the housing going to the TB.

IMO...waste of time and money. To answer your questions, yes it is "safe" to install. And yes you will probably notice a difference. A loss of power. You get better performance out if vehicles with more air flow...I don't see how putting something in your intake tubing that obstructs the flow of air into your engine would increase air flow. And by "safe", I mean that it will not do any damage to your car. Your choice from here.

Well it can be dangerous. If its not installed properly or if it moves inside the housing because its to small it would create a full/open throttle which would be very scary if you were in gear.

you guys know that pretty sound we hear with cai's thats teh designed pulse wave that the manufacturers have helped design into the design into the intake that actually helps force air into the engine. the turbonator would do nothing but slow it down

I find it funny that everyone on this site bashes this product, but there's a link at the top of this thread leading to the site that sells it.
I personally wouldn't use it either, just a funny observation.

well there's an easy explanation: the owner of this site accepts advertising to promote his business (they pay the owner, and he uses the money to maintain and upgrade acurazine). the fact is, the turbonator is junk, and he knows it. and so do most of the people here. so it's a win-win situation (sort of): he get paid for advertising junk, and we won't pay for junk. it's only the noobs that would get suckered into buying one of these things. which is why "search" and asking questions is always a good idea if a person doesn't know the product well.

true. the owner of this site gets paid (as you say, via hits), whether it is turbonator or not. if he doesn't get reimbursed, there's no way he would agree to it. (almost) nobody in business will do anything for free now a days.
