Post Decklid Spoiler Stolen?

The thread about the Type-S badges being stolen made me wonder. Has anyone had their spoiler stolen off the back of their car? If so was it bolted on or taped? I'm thinking about the Mugen spoiler for my TL-S but drive the car in NY/NJ. I'm more worried about body damage from someone yanking it off not realizing its bolted than having to replace the spoiler.

i've never heard of a spoiler being stolen... but i think most people who are into taht sort of thing know that the spoiler is bolted on, and will instead pry open your trunk and take it off the right way... hope that make you feel better

but seriously, i've never heard of that happen... i think cars get stolen more often

Actually, I used to own a 3000GT and it come standard with a spoiler ...

It was stolen by some freaking idiot .. they rip it off my car like it was nothing holding it. It was bolt on really tight too ..

Never knew who did it, but if I found out, I am going to freaking break their hands ..

This happen about 3 years ago ..

I think it was AC who's spoiler got messed up cause someone tried to rip it off.

Things like this shouldn't happen but it does happen now and then.
Make sure you park where it's nicely lit and where your car can been.

Actually, I HAVE heard of this happening! In fact, I read of one incident where someone took the spoiler off a guy's Civic while he was stopped at a red light. Just yanked it off and ran! I've also read where the factory spoilers on GM cars (Grand Am, Grand Prix) seem to be the most susceptible. FWIW, but you may want to check with your local PD regarding the frequency of reports in your area for this crime.

I remember reading that someone had there WW spoiler ripped off...but it was taped on. Who would do such a thing? If it was bolted, wouldnt it damage the spoiler really bad?

You guys can put fine razors underneath the spoiler... That way when they try to yank it, they gonna lose a whole lotta blood.
