Decision

Help me out guys - I can't decide whether to blow my summer earnings on rims (5zigen corpse 17) or to get an aem intake and the clear tails. see, the second choice would be cheaper, but i think the first would make more of a difference. it's tearing me up - i keep seeing pics of tl's with sweet rims, and im like, okay, rims. then i see the clear tails, then look at my ugly oem tails, and wish for a little more hp. but then my tires squeel around corners, and then im stuck. what would you guys do?

I'd go with a set of rims and tires if I was in your situation. They will make the entire car look more complete. The tails and intake are minor IMO. And like you said, they don't cost that much, so get them in a couple of months.

I would lower it first, then get the tails and intake. When your stock tires wear out, you'll probably have enough money to buy new rims then. Lowering the TL alone with body kit will make it look very aggressive.

I agree with AcuraTL, lower your car first. Plus 17" is too small for our TL's, save up for some 18"!

go with 18s if you can... But think twice about it. In where I live you bent your rim easily... so... gotta take that into consideration..

I would agree...

Save you money... make some small changes first...

Don't do what I did.. and do it all a once... right before the last meet.

Drop the car with some h&r springs with labor like 3 c-notes and do the clear tail lights (~360) ...

That's only like $675 from your summer earnings... and save the rest for school.

Wheels and tires are expensive... even if you get kumho or sumitomo's...

Seeya at the meet... I think its going to be the 28th for sure...

dude the tails are easy into install...

I did it myself... IF you think you need help I can do it for you at the next meet... or email me and I can help you out...

Intake on the other hand I would have to defer... Any auto mechanic should be able the pull out the old intake... I do have a buddy in Belmont who could do it for a few bucks... but I would have to ask him...

Otherwise, M Motorsports in San Bruno or Mach III in Daly City.

Unfortunately there are not any shops in mid-peninsula...

I think I should open one up....

There actually is one in burlingame, called XS racing, or something. It used to be new wave, then racing supports, now this. Im just not so sure about a place that can't stay open for more than 1 year. But it's all good - my uncle is going to do it for free - both the intake and tails.
