Angry Dealer re-rotated my tires, rebalanced my Hunter balancing, etc...

Last weekend I rotated my tires in the driveway; my fronts were way more worn than the rears and I was overdue (12K w/o rotation). Five months earlier I sought out a shop with a Hunter Balancer (the best) and balanced my new set of tires.

Today I took my car to the dealer today, really the first time I've every taken it to the dealer for anything, to have the timing belt replaced (115K), plugs and belts changed.

We went over everything they were to do (there was NO mention of TIRE ANYTHING).

I pick up the car, the tires were rotated back (worn ones on front) and the weights were changed on the "new" fronts!
What idiot would rotate those tires back? Even Stevie Wonder could feel they were worn.

Needless to say I got them to comp back the rotation/balance and have to go tomorrow to have them un-rotate them. I am also going to force them to reemburse me the amount of my Hunter balance so I can have them balanced again, correctly.

I hate dealers.

One time I went to Acura of Serramonte and asked them how much the labor is to change spark plugs (I would bring my own spark plugs - NGK Iridium) for my old '03 TL and he said $120. I was shocked and brought it to my local mechanic who did it for $40. I just don't have the guts to install spark plugs due to my fear of possibly stripping the aluminum threads.

Timing Belt, Water pump, plugs, belts, etc - ~$900.

Mind you I have never brought this car to the dealer for any substantial work before (I do my own brakes, oil, etc). Even if I paid a little more, I've save countless $100's with the 5 brake jobs I've done myself on this car.

So the dealer rerotated and comp'd me for my prior Hunter balancing.
The service guy said "you didn't say not to touch the tires", to which I replied "you never said in all that we went over to do that you were going to touch them".

I mean, come on, who walks into a restaurant to have them give you food before you order? Why should they assume I want things done without asking?
I specifically asked for timing belt, accessory belts, plugs & waterpump.

as long as you first hand screw the plug you should not strip the thread. I learned the hard way on my cousin's old prelude ... we used the ratched to start screwing the plug in and screwed it in at an angle and stripped out the threads ... we then had to re-thread and never changed that plug again.

I thought they're supposed to call you before doing any work unless you sign off on it prior... Too bad you didn't get other stuff comped - a couple of free oil changes or something.
