DC headers, street side.
My new DC headers came today from street side and they look great. I've inspected them over very well and they look great! They came in 2 days free shipping and their price was the lowest. I recommend Street side they were a great easy transaction. Can't wait for everything else to come to put it all on.

I have a tool room in the corner of my basement. No ambient light really makes it in so after sunset it's pitch black w the lights off. I checked them in here and the welds look good so the product is good now it's up to me to install them. Once the rest of my parts come I'm going to get started hopefully. Work has been crazy busy lately so I been at about 80+ hours a week recently but I think once it's time to mod I'll slow down a bit.

Looking through the box I don't see a gasket for between the headers and engine. Doing headers on other cars before I swear I remember a metal gasket maybe? Correct me if I'm wrong. If there is, do I reuse the existing ones or get new gaskets?

That is good glad you didn't have any problems Also you reuse the factory gasket that is on the car or you can get brand new ones from Acura if you want

call seller about ship date on mounts,,may be back-ordered 3 months
NEW ex. gaskets are a wise investment,,new pipes wont sit the same on old wear marks,,,
do you really want to take it all off and fix again when it leaks?
While you wait on parts:
I would remove intake manifold, dremel the intake ports open to the size of the gasket opening,,you will be surprised how much you are losing in airflow now
Install a thermoblock spacer,,P2R or outlaw engineering are the main suppliers--different design but same intent = sea level air temp and power all the time by preventing most of the heat saturation of intake manifold (hot air is less dense = less power per molecule)
and the bomz or unorthodox racing, lightweight crackshaft pulley
underdrive size fine for less than 600 watt stereo
all that = a really fast TL

i would def do a new exhaust manifold gaskets.. especially doing those rear manifolds.. gets a little tedious with the minimal space..
have you thought about doing the poly fill on the oem mounts?
i would say they should have included gaskets for exhaust manifolds to j-pipe/downpipe

Not sure even what spacers are. Any chance u have a link?? And there's no way I'm waiting 3 months on those motor mounts. Stephen, yes I ordered the fixed mounts from XLR8. I could make them myself faster than that. I'd just poly fill some oem mounts before I put my project on hold the long. I've been trying to reach them but I'm guessing they have been closed for the holidays. Hopefully Monday they will reopen.

I'll let you know what's going on w them Monday. After all the bad I heard about the oem mounts failing so fast and the horror stories about replacing the rear mount I really wanted to avoid them if I have a choice. Hopefully it's just a holiday delay. I ordered my headers and mufflers same day and the headers are here and I at least can track the mufflers which are currently in Cali as we speak.

Just got off the phone w XLR8 and he was able to confirm that the 62A durometer motor mounts will be arriving today or tomorrow. They have the stiffer mounts currently in stock now, I believe he said they are 75 stiffness. Now u can definitely avoid those oem mounts.

Just gotta be in a dark room and shine a light on the outside and make sure nothing shows on the inside right?
And just to confirm, these are the second production of DC Sports headers that have the 3 bolt flanges between pieces, not just 2 bolts? A couple pics of the pipe ends should answer my question if you don't know what I'm referring to.

Finally opened up the box and inspected the headers. It seems there is the slightest hole in one that's too small and out of the way for me to see, but I can see the light that barely shows on the outside of the joint.
I guess I'll be contacting DC Sports and/or StreetSide

Here's a link to Outlaw Engineering's thermal spacer kit.
http://www.outlawengineering.com/hondajframe.html
It also includes a fitting for the TB coolant bypass.
