Just remember, if you plan on doing, or have the 6 speed conversion the only headers that work are the Comptech and the SS headers

I bought ebay "junk" headers for $110. Over 20hp gain on the dynojet. Had them on for 2 years...still no problems.

Note: Just use your old gaskets and better quality bolts rather than the ones that come with the new headers.

yup..a shame really.. they sold like hot cakes. they still make them for integra's but for like $230, and then you scroll down to see that they were selling them for 95$ a pop plus shipping for 2nd gen tl/cl's. lol crazy stuff. it's been so long that they have been out of stock that i doubt they ever will again

I do think the rear 6 speed bracket could be ground down some to accommodate the header? that or a good welder could put a small notch into the header to clear it as well, it only needs to be modified slightly on one tube. then have a coater recoat the header piece.

Enjoy it !!! Remember to re-tighten the bolts to the headers after a week of driving. Also, good luck on your mpg. I can't stay away from "pedal to the metal" now. heheheheheeh ......

You paid for quality parts. At least you don't have any issue after 10+ year.

That's true. Never had a problem in 11 years. Just sold my TL a few weeks ago.

and they are still like 12 or 1300 new though, so not too much of a price drop for being ten years

If you're running an aftermarket exhaust is there going to be a noise issue after installing headers? I've read that a few guys said that it can be louder, but I'd like some other confirmation. Mikey I bet your TL is a beast now

couple words of advice, if you are that worried about noise then just stay stock, hard to beat the stock system for quiteness

but yes headers will make a car louder, how much???, depends on the rest of the exhaust system and such with how it is modded, but normally headers won't add much noise though

headers wont make the car louder. cheap headers might create resonance and that will annoy some ppl. another reason to get quality headers.

Thanks for the replies guys, I figured resonance may be the only issue. I'm running a Greddy Evo II catback exhaust which is notorious for drone, but I've solved that problem now with a Car Chemistry 3 disk insert (recommended by a 3G member). The insert transformed the sound of the exhaust from obnoxious to pleasant in the cabin with a nice mean note still. I don't think the insert is for everyone because there is restriction, but it's worth it for daily driving. Essentially you'd lose any gains from the exhaust but maintain a nice DD sound level and looks of course.

Here's the thread: CC exhaust insert eliminates drone

I'd sure like to pick up some DC headers, but I don't think I need to drop any more money at this point. It's already been another expensive spring, and I'm saving for a two month trip coming up this winter.

fixed , a car being expensive, WTF are you complaining about , your car deserves the utmost best care and parts, with all maintence being kept up to date, since it is your pride and joy afterall

Where do you get that I'm complaining? All I said is I've spent quite a bit already this spring and need a break from the spending. I do love my car and take great care of her. Hell I've spent over a grand in detailing equipment and products so I can personally detail my baby at a professional level. I show her a lot of care, and maintenance is never an issue.

What you're suggesting is wasting money on overpriced products (despite their great quality), when most members would be more than satisfied with the quality of DC headers. Do Comptech headers offer 3 times the quality and performance that the DC ones do? I hardly think they're worth it. Priorities man.

You'll spend over a grand on headers, I'll spend over a grand on products that will allow me to keep my baby's paint looking damn near new and at times almost flawless. I don't know how much work you've put into your pride and joy at once, but I've spent 24 hours over three straight days in the garage doing a three stage machine polish, seal and wax, plus all the other fixings.

Don't jump to conclusions based on one sentence and begin to lecture me on how cars are expensive and that we should take care of them..huh..no shit

ummm.... i was being more of a jackass tyvm

but yeah as far as fulling detialing my car, it is my DD, so it is going to get beat some no matter what (yes you can keep a DD nice, but i am just saying though), and you should see the number of rock chips on the car, just from the amount of shit on the roads here, kinda pointless to keep "PERFECT"

So are these the ones that will fit right for my 03 type s? Is it a average price for the headers?
