Exclamation Dastek Unichip in a TL . . .

I gave Tony of the Racers Group a call today about an install of the Unichip into my V6 Accord. It has been proven to give very dramatic power increase (a SHO member posted 30+ ft-lb torque increase at about 2000 rpm). Anyways, I called at a bad time because Tony was working on a 3.2 TL at the time. I'll call him back later to find out the results. I was just wondering who it may be and whether he/she is on this board. So whoever it is, please stand up . . .

*soils his pants and drools all over himself*

i/h/e/pulleys/unichip would stomp a Type S... hell it would be pushing 270-280 hp.

Damn I can't freakin wait.

I was gonna call DFE in Loganville today cause they were one of the listed Distributors of the UNICHIP, to ask them if they can do the tuning.

I've been trying to call them all this week, but their "chip" guy is out, Dave...

Do you know the price range of the mod and is there a website (U.S.) that is selling it.

Now tell me that's not incredible.

Ah yes, and for the non believers who will call this BS, they've both been Dyno tested, for 10 hours if I'm not mistaken at The Racer's Group dyno facility at Sonoma Cali. They specialize in Porsche's, but they've picked up an interest in Honda V6's lately.

Its not a Venom 400 gimmick that just screws with the ECU, it actually optimizes air fuel ratio and timing to achieve the most hp with the mods you have. It even makes crazy gains on a stock car. And unlike the Venom or other chips, it actually increases gas mileage. So

It was originally $1200. That's $1000 for the module and $200 for tuning on the dyno, (about a 4-6 hours process). However, Momoney was able to convince the Racers Group to bring the price down and it'll be $1000 for the module and dyno tuning.

When I talked to Tony, he said that they weren't able to advance the timing yet on the non-distributor J30 series engine, but they'll be getting a new unit in several months that'll fix that. I'll give him a call later to find out what the TL put out and what kind of modification it had.

So just think about what will happen to your maxed out 270hp TL after a Type-S with the chip, i/h/e, and pulleys, putting out some 300 odd horsepower passes you by.

So you go and spend all that dough just to be a Certified Wanna be

heh heh heh... you know Im just f*ckin with you Kenny

Check out the Racers Groups website, www.theracersgroup.com
They're the main distributor in the US and are located in Sonoma CA. You could contact them to find out the closest distributor in your area. You could also visit www.dastek.co.za which is the company's main site.

Sonoma, CA? That's only like an hour away from where I am. Well, once someone finds out that they do have a chip and has proven gains, I'll drive up there and have one put in.

Yes, I've been to Exclusive Motor Cars, they specialize in Porches. It's a few miles off route 3.

Well, I just got off the phone with Tony from the Racers Group and talked to him briefly about the results of the Unichip equipped TL that they were working on last Friday. All the TL had was an cold air intake and exhaust. His gains were 10 hp @ 3000 rpm, and 20 hp @ 6500 rpm. Tony believes that once the new unit comes in, they'll be able to play around with the timing and get more power out of the engine. Get this though, the owner of the TL said he didn't feel anything. Anyways - Dastek Unichip has a satisfaction guarantee where if within 3 months your not happy with the gains you could get your money back.

Have them post the dyno here. Ask them if they want to do one with headers on, I can always drive up there during a weekday.

LOL . . . do I have to do everything for you. You're one of the lucky ones that live close enough to the Racer's Group, that you could have them do the install themselves instead of going to their other distributor. My suggestion is, if you're really interested you should contact Tony, their tech in charge of development/installation of the Unichip computer. He's friendly and will answer any of your questions. I believe the Racer's Group (even though they specialize in Porsches) would like to see the product succeed for the Honda's & Acura's.
