Some people up in here including myself have had eithermoonroof, seat and seatbelt rattle problems. All of which can be taken care of at your local acura . But, in dash rattles seem to be the first... you mentioned when you squeeze, it stops rattle...i think you got the little people leaving inside your dash board .

Best thing to do is take your car back to the dealer and make them fix it as long as it is still under warranty.

I had that problem...and once in awhile i do too
this is what it is...

I took to dealer twice..... it got rid of the louder noise..

It's something with the dash NOT ALIGNED and PUSHED IN correctly.... they pulled it out and aligned it again..then PUSHED IN REAL HARD>...

it was fixed...on my car..but when i lowered it... the noise came back a little...not as loud as before...but once in awhile I PUSH THE DASH forward and hard.....it goes away...
after awhile on bumpy roads... it starts to come back..i'm thinking it's loose again..

don't know what I can do to fix it

.... I just can't tolerate any rattling in my car... And instead of posting it again, if anyone knows about what might have been the cause, I'm all ears to learn from it.... Thanks!

There are literally dozens of possible rattle sources inside the dash. But here a few good ones I have found, one rattle i have heard and fixed a few times stems from loose brackets in and around the amp located behind the radio seems the factory is sometimes a bit loose about tightening the bolts, another good one is that the small tray above the radio can rattle against the instrument fascia.Another good one I just found is the throttle cable rattling against the metal giudes it is pressed into.Another fun one is a loose instrument panel. Most of these noises require quite a bit of time to locate so I would suggest you make an appt. with your dealer but here is the trick. On the day you bring it in ask to go for a quick ride with a tech and demonstrate the noise this will go a long way to correcting the problem as now no one can say "no problem found".Jens

I have the same rattle; it is intermittent and depends on the temperature. It is located at the center A/C vent. If you push up or down on the center vent it will stop (like you said, you can pinch the dash and the vent bezel together). I believe its plastic on plastic contact where the bezel's vent grill meets the A/C duct, but I've never taken the bezel apart to prove it.

I have the same rattle too. Mine is coming from the right screw that holds the black dash up above the speedometer. I took the screw out and I couldn't find anything that can possibly rattle. I tightened it as much as I could but it is still there. I hate that stupid rattle. Everyone thinks I am crazy for complaining about it. It's just that they can't hear it. The driver on the otherhand goes crazy!

i had the rattle for a while (bought it last april) and finally the dealer figured out that it was coming from the passenger side airbag-apparently something wasn't screwed in tight. the dealer replaced the airbag ( took a few hours) and now the rattles seem to be almost gone. i still hear squeaks from the dash once in a while but it's a LOT better than it used to be. It drove me friggin nuts!

I used to have high blood pressure over my rattles. I killed me. Ruined the car. I am now at peace with my rattles. And also use the soothing sound of music to drown them out.

My particular favorite compilation is a wonderful collection called Iowa, from slipknot.

TURN IT UP!!!

Not so simple as you think, my rattle in the dash ( near glovebox or passenger airbag) is intermittent, depends on the temperature and only on certain type of bumps.... Once I was like "That's it, let me reproduce it and show it to the acura tech". So I am trying to reproduce it, and its not there anymore...?! But then latter on I am driving on one road, and it starts again
its messed up, If I can't consistently reproduce the problem than I how can the dealer reproduce it ?!

The only solution to the deck rattle is to have TSB which includes tighening and re-aligning the dash.... forget about reproducing the problem... I might just try complaining that my dash is lose and rattles, maybe they will tighten it up .... which should make it better

i had the same problem of not being able to reproduce the rattles either but on the last try, the mechanic and i drove on the bumpiest and crappiest street we could find and he was finally able to hear it. try driving around the dealership to see which roads will make those rattles.

1. What was the exact location of your rattle?
2. How did the dealer fix it?

I'd hope to know that they have some sort of TSB on how to address front dash rattle....

russiandude, there were two rattles- 1 from the driver side and the other from the passenger side (airbag). the driver's side was fixed by tightening the dash and then they replaced the airbag for the other problem.
