Darn it, the jet kit was installed...

My brother has had posession of my car for the last 4 weeks while his car was in the shop, and I asked him to take it to the dealership to have the SRS light reset and the system checked out.

Apparently while he was there, the dealership also installed the transmission jet kit. I was trying to hold off as long as possible because of the horror stories related to the jet kit, but now I can only cross my fingers and hope for the best. My transmission was working fine, so I hope I won't be another victim of the oil jet kit failing the transmission.

Also the vent cover on the dash popped off on its own, and they told him it'll take a month to get the part in. It's the defroster vent on the dash pointed toward the side windows. Geez.

Just venting. Acura of Troy hasn't done anything right in the past, so I'm afraid that they might have messed up the transmission this time. I knew I would have to get it done sooner or later, but I wanted Ann Arbor Acura to do it, not Acura of Troy. I guess they didn't even tell my brother they were doing it. Those sumbitches just wanted the money.

Hey Pure Adrenaline,

I think Acura of Troy wanted warranty $$$ from Acura corporate. Oh well ... it was a matter of time before it 'had' to be done. I got mine done earlier in 2004 ... so far, so good.

Over a month for a part?! WTF?! Good luck with that ... but I was supposed to get a steering cable replaced on warranty but that part never showed up (or the dealership never bothered to call me)

In my case my original trans went 10 days after the oil jet kit was installed. I had no problems with the trans acting up before. This is probably a coincidence but it make me wonder if the original trans would still be working if the oil jet kit was never installed.

Apparently, when my tranny croaked at 98K, they said the new tranny automatically came with the new jet kit. I dont know about this. I have a 99, and it wasn't supposed to be for 99s right? So far so good... but I'll just have to knock on fake acura wood!

As far as I understand, if you dont get the oil jet kit installed upon the requested time, they will not honor the 100K tranny warranty since a recall was not performed on the vehicle.

I just had mine done last week on my TL-S....so far so good, and I got a free car wash and vaccum out of it!

the oild jet does not affect the performance of the car.

I have had the oil jet in for a few months now and so far (knock on wood) I havent had any problems. I have noticed that when the car shifts from 2 - 3 you can feel the shit a little more. other than that I didnt notice anything!

Pure Coincidence! it has nothing to do with it failing. when the dealers install it and inspect teh 2nd gear shaft, they DONOT inspect teh 3rd gear clutchpacks. i was just at teh dealer the other day and asked this question to the mechanic that i know there and he said its pure coincidence also.

i have it on mine and its been running just fine for 0ver 10k now. odds are teh tranny will die again, and i will install it on the one sitting in my garage (my spare) when this one dies
