Damn SRS light!. AGAIN!!!!
My TL has 7000 miles and the SRS light has come on again. The first time they said it was that computer chip thing and they replaced it. I went about 2 weeks without problems then today the light came on again! Has anybody else had problems with this TWICE!?!?! Also what is the "lemon" policy about problems that can't be fixed after 3 tries. If this happens a third time would it be considered a lemon? thanks

ghost,
thats not a problem. the light occasionally comes on indicating the passenger is not seated properly according to the seat sensors. this cuts off the passenger side airbag. tell your passenger to shift a little and the problem should go away. annoying yes...problem no.

SRS light? I think it's the same problem that I have. The light for the passenger side airbag right?
Well, it's caused when the passenger moves around a lot in their seat. The light turns on for a bit then shuts off. I talked to Acura about it and they didn't repair it or anything. They just told me it was nothing to be concerned about and that all TL's do that.
I'm just wondering if the light turns on, and if I get in a accident, will the airbag open. If not I see a big lawsuit coming......

I understand the side airbag light but my problem has to do with the RED SRS LIGHT which stays on the whole time while i'm driving. Anybody have problems with this light as opposed to the orange side airbag light? thanks

I just got back from my ACURA dealer for the same problem and he asked me who sits in the passenger seat? I said my girlfriend. He asked if she weighs less than 100lbs.? I said about 100lbs. He then explained that the SRS detects that a child or child seat is on the passenger seat, which then turns off the SRS.

Well that sucks! My wife weighs 89 lbs which means if I get into an accident she won't have the luxury of the airbag...great engineering HONDA!

My 2000 TL had this problem on the 2nd day of ownership thats been almost a year now.The recall started in the early spring.
Check & see if the seat belt latches were replaced something to do with micro switches inside that makes Red SRS Light come on.Look at old post under Tech Problems try going back to June.
