Are you sure it's coming from the bolt? Remember, the bolt area is the lowest point on the pan, so it may just be accumulating there from a leak somewhere else...

Yeah definitely make sure it's coming from the drain plug.

Does the dealer do your oil changes?

If so take it back to them.

If you or someone else does it, I would first order a new drain plug washer, and if they're not too expensive, a new drain plug.

The worst case is the drain plug threads are stripped and you will need to have a bigger hole tapped for a bigger drain plug. No biggie though.

VTEC,

Since you change your own oil, might I suggest you order quite a few of the crush washers. You should be replacing it everytime you change the oil. They are very cheap insurance to prevent you from stripping the oil pan threads.

Yeah, you're supposed to change that crush ring every oil change.

If it were me the first thing I would do is crawl back under there with my torque wrench and check the torque.

I used to change my own oil without a torque wrench until I stripped the threads on my old crx. At the time there was not meat to put a bigger hole so I had to pay $800 for a new pan!!!

That buys a oil change or two!

Since then I spent $50 on a torque wrench.

I know that every time I get the oil changed at my dealership they replace the little rubber gasket/washer to keep from leaking. They also replace the rubber seals oil filter too. That's all standard at my dealership and I think they charge about 45 cents per gasket/washer..... It's worth the 45 cents to avoid headaches, I agreed with them on that idea....

I guarantee if you did not change the aluminum washer, that this is the likely source of the leak. Been there and done that with a previous Accord.
