Question Dallas Installer

Does anybody know a good place to get sways and springs installed in the Dallas area (preferably Plano)?
Vandergriff gave me a quote of $170 for sways and $360 for springs. Does that sound reasonable?

Thanks

Philippe

I am not from Dallas, but $360 for springs sounds like a huge ripoff.

I got mine intalled locally in Northern VA for $150

Good luck

I have two contacts that I was going to check out. I got them from a guy with a modified Civic. So I don't know their reputation, but the guy said they were good. I'll give you their numbers, but suggest you check them out before using them.

Joe Tech - 972-278-9744
New Concepts - 972-585-1220

Let me know if you end up calling them.

RUF,

Thanks for the contacts. I did call them.
New Concepts only does body work and does not do anything mechanical. BTW, their number was (972) 578-1220.
Joe Tech, on the other hand, does that type of work. The guy said that it's been a long time since he's installed sways or springs on a TL. Off the top of his head, he quoted me $200 to install sways and $125 for springs. It does not seem correct that springs would be cheaper to install than sways. I think he's confused and I'm not sure I would trust him with the job. $125 for springs does seem cheap though, so I may hold him up to that... Did anyone have experience with them?

Sorry about the bad number.

As for Joe Tech, I'm usually leary if someone doesn't do something on a regular basis. Especially if it turns out that he can't even quote a job right.

I guess I'll see who you end up using or find someone else.

I had my springs installed by JoTech and they charged me $125. I had my girlfriend call in so they might give her a better deal, and what do you know; I went there with her and we had the springs installed and they told me that next time I had to pay $200 if I didn't buy the springs from them.

The install was done by one of the techs there, but I would try to get Kenny to do the install, because he is the best installer there.

Vandergriff is ripping you off with the springs install, just as they were trying to rip me off by asking for over $300 for the header install, where David McDavid in Austin did the install for only $170.

hope this helps

Call Steve Metcalf at Hondamotive in Fort Worth. It's on White Settlement (817-870-5096). I don't know what he'll charge for the springs, but he quoted me $100 to install the sways. I've been taking my Hondas to him since he opened in '97. He was previously the service manager at MacChurchill/David McDavid in SW Fort Worth for 10 years.
