D2r D2s

ok.. i did the search on HID..
got some infos.. but still confuse..

there are 4200, 6000, and even 8000
4200 is stock.. most ppl go 6000, some got 8000
do i really need the 8000?
it is bluerrr.. but isn't brighter as 6000 right?
is there pictures for 6000 and 8000?

ok.. let's say i settle with 6000
D2R or D2S? for 03 TLs..
and do i need to change the ballasts to make it look more true color? forexample more blue or more purole? or i can use my stock ballast without any problem..?

finally.. philips or osram(sylvania)?

sorry.. i'm noob for this lightting stuff..

if you get the 6000K, you dont need to get new ballasts cause the Acura ones can handle them. if you go any higher, you'll lose too much light output and might not see **** on the road at nite. 6000K is a nice compromise between light output and color of the light. get the D2R ( i think those are for our cars). i would go with phillips.

If you get D2R, it's direct swap, but if you get D2S, you need to do some modification.

If you look at the pic I attached of D2S( which is not a direct replacement), look at the slot circled on right side. On D2R's that slot is located on the left side, which I circled and arrowed. By creating the slot on left, it helps the bulb slide into the plug and snap in. I used a dremel tool and created a slot on the left side.

Once you take out your stock (D2R's) and compare them w/D2S's, you will see the slot I'm talking about.

I don't think you can be able to tell the huge difference between D2R & D2S. If you do, it's not going to be alot. The projector lens make the light so purplish & bluer on BMW, AUDI, & S2000.

I never did understand this. If the D2R is a direct replacement for us, why do some people go with the D2S? There must be a reason?

D2R bulbs have optical shielding around the lens but D2S don't. Because of that, D2S might give you more light out put.

D2R

D2S

Remember, it's $145 each, so that's 290 total.

I can hook you up with $230 a set including shipping for Philips 6000K bulbs.

I would just say D2R, makes your life easier. That is what made my decision.
