take the passenger side kick panel on the center console out, and right up front, theres the ECU. splice into pin A9 on the plug towards the rear of the vehicle. Thats where you need to splice in you VSP.

Niko, Thank you, I found it on the ECU.

Now, I need to know where I could get the BACK LT nav unit C5? I have routed this wire to the front.

I was able to successfully tap cluster pin A21

Now, last question, where does back LT wire go?

Once, I am done, I will post some pics

I probed the B+ and I have no voltage.

I probed other B+ in other connectors, seems like none have voltage across them. Could not have any voltage on the B+ be a problem?

the back LT wire you can tap at the pass. fusebox. there is a brown pin that has two wires going in/out. Tap the green/black wire there. I too finished tapping all the wires for the conversion...will run a final test tuesday when the antenna is all hooked up..

I have wired everything

but, I have no desplay. I tested the B+ wire, it does not have voltage across it. I test few other points where it too have a B+ wire, no voltage.

Is this correct?

Does Navi have a power on/off button?

no, but the power for the display is fed from the navi unit in the trunk...then there is only one wire that powers everything up. it should be the ACC wire. make sure that wire is spliced properly. B+ is just a constant power (for memory). also make sure you have a good ground (meaning its now screwed into plastic, but metal) other than that, of you have run all your other wires properly, you should be up and running.

thanks for the info, Niko, What voltage should you read from ACC? Do you have any voltage at all for B+?

Thanks

all voltage should read 12V. you should read 12V from both the B+ and ACC. ACC is switched power, meaning its only on when the ignition is turned to Acc position. B+ is always on.

I have nothing on B+, I splice RED/BLACK from the CD player. I check the CD Player connector, it has no voltage either. I also checked the climate control unit B+, it too does not have any voltage.

These are the voltages I read:

ACC = +12V
SCTY2 = +12V

B+ = 0V

Thank you guys

Red/Black on the radio harness is Illumination. If you turn on your lights, you should have 12V there. Pin A2 on the radio harness is ACC (white/red) - thats your switched power. Pin A10 on the same harness is B+ (white/green) - thats your constant power. You should have 12V no matter what there.

double check your radio connections, they could have gotten loose in the shuffle....also, if you have an aftermarket radio, dont bother hooking up the wires for the voice, you won't hear it on an aftermarket deck...double check your voice wire connections make sure you didnt splice them into the wrong points, that could have disrupted your speakers...

I double checked the radio connections, everything checks out well. I tested every point with a DMM, passed.

This how I splice the radio, I cut the radio wire, striped it and I brought my wire and solder them all together. In other words, I cut, strip and solder three wires together.

Question, how many connectors suppose to be in the back of radio?

I see three connectors in the radio, one for power, etc, (connector A) then another connector (connector B) and amp connector.

Connector B is DOES NOT have any wires coming to it. It does not have a female connector AT ALL. Is this correct?

correct.

if all your tests check out, hopefully you didnt send power or something to the speakers and blow them...worst case, if you have an aftermarket deck, take it out and put the stock one back in, if you have sound, theres something wrong with your deck (blown internal amp, or your settigs could just be messed up) other than that, you're gonna have to do some more troubleshooting...

Another none-Navigation to Navigation Conversion

I am very happy to say, I finally finished the conversion. Though, I went through some trouble times for I burned out the CD player. I tapped the wrong wire for B+. I tapped RED/YELLOW from the CD player; this burned my CD player. I had to buy another CD player which cost me $80 from a wreck yard.

For those who are playing on converating, try to tap the following for B+, ILL+, ILL-, ACC from the clock connector as follows:

Clock pin #1 (yellow) : ACC
Clock pin #2 (white with red marks): B+
Clock pin #3(red/blk): ILL+
Clock pin #4: ILL -
Clock pin #5(black): Ground

NOW I HAVE a PROBLEM: I don not get voice. Navi does not mute my CD player. Can someone tell me what should I do now?

if you're sure you spliced your voice wires correctly, go in the setup screen and make sure volume is up, and voice is turned on on map screen.... glad to hear you finally got it done!

I just tried that, (turned the volume up in "setup", then clicked the "voice" button on the screen), it still did bring up the voice command.

Navi Map Position

Hi guys... I was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem... I have a 03 TL-P Navi Conversion and from time to time it shows that I'm on the wrong road when in fact im not? Then after a few 100 ft it puts me back on the right road. Does anyone else out here have this problem?

All OEM Hardware off 00 TL, DVD deck & GPS antenna mounted on OEM Location.

"NOTE"
Navi conversion from a 99/00 TL... disc ver. 2.03. Maybe I need to upgrade to 2.40??

Anyone w/ any input!!! PLEASE. Navi took me on a nice road trip last night in Jersey trying to find OLIVE GARDEN!! LOL

It's happened to me before as well. Sometimes I think there may be some interference and that's why it shows that you're on the wrong road. If it catches itself I wouldn't worry about it to much.

I the same system as you 00 navi unit. I get this problem too. For example, when I am on road that runs parallel to a highway, it show I am in the highway. I think it has to do with the age of the road, meaning if the road was build after our navi CD was made, it wont show and it will act up. Also, I have notice when my navi gets confused, I blamed it on the signal.
