The only thing I didn't see on your list was the climate control section. I am sure you would have grabbed it when you got there but just giving you a heads up. That is a great deal BTW. Wish I was able to get mine for that much. Good luck with the install.

Need some help
Hey I got a problem with my Navi installation. When i turn on the car the screen came on for about 5 seconds and then it went off. I checked the fuse and it was fine. Is there anything else that I need to check to find out what is wrong?

well thanks to another member, i was able to find the shielded cable. I completed the wiring harness a little while ago. Tomorrow I will solder all the joints, and hopefully this thing should be up and running by the end of the week!! I will update with progress, but thanks to Niko, this project has been a whole lot easier...thanks man!

It's about time that you finally got what you needed! I just seen your other post asking about wires this morning I was about to ask for your address to send you some.

well fellas, the harness is pretty much done. I tests all points for continuity--passed with no problems. I taped up the harness and put some wire loom on it...It looks pretty clean/OEM. Of course there are still a whole bunch of wires that are hanging out because I need to tap into the stock locations..

When I did my conversion I didnt even put my nav box in the trunk I put it under the passengers seat. It was much more convenient and a whole lot less time. I think that it took me 2 1/2 hours to put it in after I had soldered and labelled all the wires

Hello everyone,
I bought a navi sys (screen & DVD) from a 2001 tl. It didnt come with the connectors. I have looked all over the map to find a set of connectors Unfortunately, no one has them for sale or knows where to get.
If anyone knows anyone that might be selling the DVD and Screen connectors, please let me know. It will be a great help.
Or, can someone help me to connect the DVD to Screen then to the car?
Any help is GREATLY apprecite
Thank you very much.

Try to follow Ben, he did it without using the connectors.

^^very nice. Yes just follow the directions. You cannt test it without wiring up the entire thing. I tested mine by uninstalling a friends NAVI in his car and plugging all my stuff in it..
#269
^^Not really. You will need data to transmit a picture onto the screen, which you wont get unless you have the NAV drive hooked up. That connector connects to the 3 pins in the existing climate control plug which are empty. Look at Bens PDF file

If you need to make connectors go to Radio Shack and get you the Female Serial connector kit for $4 and some of that heat shrink tubing. It worked for me like a champ. Crimp or Solder on the female ends then use the shrink tubing to cover the exposed end and to keep it from slipping onto another terminal. When you do this for the screen just leave a lil extra slack so you can tape the wires to the back of the screen or to something stable so nothing pops out.

you dont need to splice into the multiplex, if anything stay away from it if you dont know what youre doing, you dont want to fry anything. B+, ACC, ILL, DIMM, GND can all be spliced into all those wires going to your radio. if you have an aftermarked radio, it will be easier to identify which wire is which. all that's left is the CHARGE wire which can go to pin A-21 on your guage cluster (its the large, left-most plug on the cluster), and you also need back up lights, which you can do in the trunk, or in the gear selector, or on the passenger side fuse panel, theres a brown plug which it splices into (someone may have to confirm that), and the VSS wire which i mentioned to you earlier. thats it! lemme know if theres anything else i can help you with

No, you don't need to connect to the display, only dvd unit

You should read through the thread...It tells you specific locations where you can just tap into existing wires, so you dont have to run anything to the mulitplex/fuse box. I did it this way and it was much easier.
