CTS: Caddy Too Slow

I just went to lunch, had some sushi and a beer and embarassed some poor guy in a CTS with a temp tag...
This is like the 20th time someone around 40 rolls up "not in his father's Cadillac" after watching TV commercials and wants to run. I even got him twice!

Even funnier, they cost more than an Acura! What a sucker...

I think the CTS has more emphasis on luxury and plush ride, instead of beating Acura's off the line.

If that's what you want to see, wait 'til the CTS-V comes out and challenge one.

I also think the CTS is a waste of money. Horrible exterior, worse interior. Nice paint though. Caddys are for pimps and old people and there is NOTHING wrong with that. Caddys for young people and non-pimps=silly.

ROFL...
Well maybe I'll have a Ferrari when it comes out...Point is, right now it's a freakin' dog!!!

How can you say is it built for luxury and ride when I watch hoops and see this stupid commercial with a silver CTS ( note that my Acura is silver) turning orange from going soooo fast around some corners? My car doesn't turn orange, h=ll, my rotors don't even turn orange!

My point is, I left this guy with a $33,900 frown on his face and you know between the commercial and that noisy engine, he thought he was getting something to roll in...They market the car to the sub 50 generation as performance oriented and it doesn't compare...

I'm 56 and this is my second Type S, first the CL and now a new TL.

Some people just don't know a value car if it hits them.

These young guys make me laugh, love reading what you posts every day.:p

GM Recalls Cadillac CTS
March 21, 2003

General Motors is recalling about 51,000 model year 2003 Cadillac CTS cars to inspect the steering shaft for a loose bolt. GM is aware of two incidents where customers lost steering control due to the condition, though there were no reported injuries in either incident. The condition can be fixed by merely tightening the bolt.

Customers can drive their vehicles to the dealers for inspection and, if necessary, repair. If customers are concerned about driving their vehicles, they can call their dealers to request assistance. Cadillac dealers will inspect the vehicles to see if the steering shaft bolt is under-tightened. If necessary, the dealer will tighten the bolt to the proper specification. These repairs will be performed at no cost to the customers.

Of the total, about 48,000 of the vehicles are in the U.S. and approximately 3000 are in Canada. The vehicles were built between October 2001 and February 2, 2003.

The CTS is a waste of money. Ugly car, slow and awful suspension (very sloppy). Its an american car after all.
