I installed my Comptech Exhaust today. The installation was really easy although I had one problem... the right side hangs lower than the left. Did anyone have this problem with their CT exhaust and does anyone have suggestions on how to correct this problem? Any response is appreciated. Thanks

I beleave Got_3.2 had that same problem with his CT Exhaust. I think they resolved it by using zip ties. I think you need two zip ties. Hope this helped :p

You could also go to a muffler shop and have they rehung. Supposedly its pretty cheap. Around 40ish dollars...

I have the same problem first time when I put the exhaust on, here is how I fix the problem; but you will need some one to help you.

1. loosen two bolts on your right muffler which connected to the Y pipe. "You don't have to take them off, just enough for movement"

2. Have your friend or anyone helping you, push the muffler up from the bottom and hold.

3. Tighten the bolts from muffler to the Y pipe again.

Hope this help.

PS. It will be better if you put your car on a lift, so the other person can get a better grip on the muffler.

Wow, the CT exhaust does not sit level?

I've read about the HKS doing this but not the CT.

I hope kent_99TL's suggestion works for you. Let us know.

This doesn't have anything to do with CT it's the rubber hangers that Acura uses.

Did your stock exhausts sit un-even when they were on? Or did they start to hang un-even when you put the CT exhausts on? I am afraid my left exhaust sits a tad lower than my right but not too noticeable.

you could always bend the hanger on the car

having the exhaust rehung istn too expensive..my hks sat uneven before...and when i had the resonator taken out and i had the whole exhaust extended i also had them rehang it...it was 140 in total

Thanks for all the replies. I tried kent_99TL's suggestion of loosening the bolts then have someone hold the muffler in place then tighten the bolts. It did work. It's just a bit off centered but I can live with that. Thanks kent_TL for the tip.

I used radiator type hose clamps. In the long run, they will probably last longer than the plastic zip ties.

I know mine hang lower on the left side because the rubber bushing is stretched on that side. It was hanging lower before I but the CT's on. When I took the bushings off and put the right and the left next to each other, one was stretched out a lot more!
2k3tls, how do you like the sound of the exhaust? At first I thought it was a bit loud but I'm really starting to like it.

my left CT exhaust also hangs lower.... i'm gunna try the radiator hose clamps as mentioned .. nice idea!

I WAS gunna have a muffler shop re-adjust my left hanger higher, or the right hanger lower... however, if i ever go back to stock, I'd have to re-do it again...

i have grown to LOVE the CT sound, the drone, the whole bit... i love the sound of my I/H/E setup at full throttle .. when it shifts it sounds very refined and very aggressive

After trying kent_99TL's technique of adjusting the mufflers by loosening the bolts, positioning the mufflers then tightening the bolts to adjust the height so it's level, it was off centered so I thought I'd try to center it using the plastic ties. The ties did work but I wonder how long it's going to last? Anyway, I love the sound... it's a little louder than stock and much deeper. Thanks for all the help guys.
