I sometimes dont get my oil change by acura. does the crush washer affect anything.. Whats the purpose of it..

 

I've just learned about using a crush washer. I never replaced a crush washer on all my older cars (Nissans and Toyota) and never had a problem with oil leaks. I think that all the car manufacturers must be using it to maintain a good seal. It is just a softer metal washer(feels like aluminum). I just bought a bunch of washers from the dealer to comply and have peace of mind when changing my own oil. They are pretty cheap.
