Cruise Control

I have searched and searched and searched for a solution to my issue, but to no avail.

I have an '03 TLS, and the cruise control has stopped working. I have checked the linkage, connection at the TB, the CC unit itself, the brake light switch, and the cruise master under the dash. Everything is plugged in, and not restricted. I'm almost positive the issue is electrical, and I have no idea where to start. Help?

What happens when you press the switch? Nothing? Are you sure your cruise on/off switch at the dash is turning on the system?

when you ckd the linkage at TB, did you inspect for the outboard retainer part of the cable to TB `roller`, the raised edge to keep cable in place in particular
That has been known to break off and cable jams
Ck cable for actual operation from TB to the cruise unit

No CEL on dash?
Any recent events like wet pavement caused spinning of tires= above what Traction control can handle?

Does the ABS work in brakes? test on wet or gravel with full effort braking and swerve the steering wheel FROM 35-45MPH to stopped

If its working the brake peddle will shudder under your foot as it lets the brake off and back on in milliseconds, many times

Reason for test is cking the wheel speed sensors, which also run the Cruise!
those tend to rust out inside or break a wire, easy diy replacement

try a reset of the ECU after looking at things one more time.
Remove CLOCK fuse from passenger end of dash for 1 minute then reinsert

Saves you time from removing battery neg cable, and you don't have to input radio security code, its the secret backup power to the ECU and forces a full clear and reset- self test systems on next startup

as Skirm noted- does the dash light indicate cruise master power comes ON? and switch will turn light OFF?

may be as simple as worn out switch!
I leave mine on all the time, no reason to disable it during normal driving

you looked at the disconnect switch at brake- it was tightly fastened - in position and you can feel or hear it click with brake pedal use?

Ckd cruise control fuse? there has to be one!

Let me explain in a little more detail what has happened... Before, it worked just fine, up until either just before, or just after I took it to Acura to get the air bag inflator looked at. I know for a fact it worked when I took my last trip to Savannah (04/14). I did replace the brakelight switch around September or October, but I'm almost certain it stopped working before then. When I hit the set speed on the steering wheel, nothing happens anymore, a few months back, I do remember sometimes the light would come on and it would hold speed, but now it's just stopped altogether. Every now and again when I test it to see if it will work, the light will pop on for a split second and then disappear.

Cable operates fine, checked it both at the TB and the CC unit itself. Cable pulls, not a ton of slack in the cable, either. Master switch works, lights up and everything. I actually readjusted the brakelight switch today, no bones there.

No CEL. ABS seems to be in working order, but as far as I can tell, and/or remember, the ABS light has never flickered when I slam on brakes, like it did in my Accord. The light works, it tests itself every time I turn the car on, like it's supposed to.

I did pull the actual cruise control fuse, it's #6 on the driver side. Also has an ECU tag on it.

The car does have 280,000 miles on it, so I guess wheel speed sensors are a possibility. But I would thing the ABS light would come on if they were bad.

And one other thing, I took my multimeter to it a few weeks ago, at the harness that plugs into the CC unit, no voltage across the whole harness. None. I would think, in my very vague knowledge of electrical systems, that the harness is supposed to have 12V constantly when the master switch is on, am I right? If I can find said multimeter, I will look at the harness under the dash tomorrow.

Oh, and when I spin tires, I intentionally turn the TCS off.
