Cruise control ?
Hey guys, not sure what this could be, everything works fine on the car, cruise is great, except if you go over a big expansion joint like on a bridge it somehow triggers the cruise to cancel. it take a good jolt but it happens and caught me off guard the first time it happened. any ideas?

I see two possibilities, w/ first most likely:
1) Brake light switch too sensitive. If you tap the brakes, cruise cuts out. If the brake light switch is set too sensitive, then an abrupt bump could move the pedal enough to cut the cruise. Adjust brake light switch to specification.
2) Deceleration Switch - Some cruise controls have a deceleration sensor switch which cuts cruise whenever there is an abrupt deceleration. This might be mispositioned or too sensitive. I didn't find a deceleration sensor switch in my 2.5TL cruise control circuit diagram.
good luck

^ agree on #1. the switch may be positioned a littel bit off and or the brake has a littel too much play causing it to bounce a littel and trigger it to go off

ok, so i am looking at part #3 i assume http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no went out to the car, i see on the pedal like a stopper pushing into a switch that has wires on the other side and i assume this is what you guys are refering to. now, what am i adjusting for because at the moment the pedal is flush with the bracket and the switch is all the way in, are you thinking the pedal moves a bit when going over a big bump thus the switch is releasing a bit? i assume pedal at the top pushing the switch in means no brake lights and pedal to the floor equals brake lights coming on or thus turning off the cruise??

With someone in the car, try applying the brake verrry slightly to assess how sensitive the brake light is to brake pedal movement. If brake light comes on w/ just the slightest touch, it's too sensitive. The brake pedal slack and/or the brake switch position (more likely the later) will need adjustment to reduce sensitivity.
Coincidentally, just this week my 2.5TL would not shift into gear. I checked the brake lights and brake lights were not illuminating indicating the brake switch was remaining open despite brake pedal being depressed. I investigated and just managed to touch the switch w/ fingers on one hand. It looks to be a real PIA to replace. I wiggled wires around and sprayed some WD40 in the general direction of the switch, and switch began to work. I'm hopeful this will fix the problem, but not optimistic.
Adjustment of switch position does look to be more easily accomplished. You simply loosen a lock nut and rotate the switch body to retract or extend the switch. My spec says their should be a small (10 mils) gap between brake pedal and sensor plunger end.
good luck
