Question Crooked Lettering & Emblem

Has anyone looked at the back of their TL-S closely to check the alignment of the Acura lettering and emblem? The center of my emblem isn't centered on the "U" in Acura, and neither is centered on the third brake light! Are those things put on by the dealer or at the plant? As petty as it is, I'm getting that fixed. I know I would snicker at a Lexus/BMW/Mercedes/Audi/etc. if their stuff wasn't aligned!

Hehe, I had the same problem with my CL-S. I think it was the "R" that was about a half-inch higher than the rest of the letters. I didn't even notice it until about two weeks after picking up the car. I took it to the dealership thinking they could just pop it off, put some fresh double-sided tape on it then reapply it. They ended up ordering a whole kit of all the letters and then just reapplied the "R". It's perfect now. Funny thing is that in nearly 7 months of ownership, that's the only reason I've had the car back at the dealership...

Bama,

I noticed the U didn't line up with the Acura emblem right off. All of the TL's I've seen are like that. I was not able to measure it yet but I just figured the C & R in Acura are not the same width and hence the reason for the offset. The lettering is lined up vertically and seems to be centered on the brake light. Acura supposedly uses the two holes under the emblem to align the lettering. Unless their template is wrong, they are at least consistent.

The CL in our parking lot has the U centered under the Acura emblem but the lettering is spaced much further apart than on the TL.

The 3.2 TL seems to just be following the edge of the trunk lid.

Has anyone actually measured to see if the lettering is off dimensionally?

Boy, I went out and looked at my Acura badge on the trunk, and mine appears perfect. All letters lined up and centered on the third taillight.

How old is your car? Mine is an early/mid April build.

I actually went out and measured mine last night. The ACURA is offset 1/16" to the right as compared to the "A" emblem. It's minor but kind of irritating knowing for certain that it's not just an optical illusion. I'm not going to let it ruin my day.

Mine was manufactured in May. I just went out and looked at it again, just to make sure. It looks perfect from every angle. And I'm real picky about that kind of thing.
