Creak in the center console

Its hard to tell because it only happens sometimes, but I'm pretty sure its the panel in the footwell on the side of the center console. Sounds like the creak is right under the faux wood trim.

Anyone know the fix to this? Or should I just take it to the dealer? I don't want to have them disasemble my dashboard for one lousy creak and then have the whole thing rattling in a few months. If there is a certain spot I need to douche with WD-40 I'd much rather just do that.

Any advice would be great.

Try spraying some WD40 into the seat belt buckler.

ya grab the top part of the center console((armrest) the part that flips open) and shift it back and fourth so it rubs against the bottom portion, this should yield your elusive sqeek. its the leather rubbing against the faux wood. If that's your ticket then just put some leather cont. on the bottom part of the armrest.

I'm pretty sure I checked the seatbelt buckle (read about that squeak before), and I don't think it is the arm rest, but I will go and check again.

It is hard to explain, but it is more of a creak than a squeak, and it is up farther than the seat belt buckle. I'm pretty sure its right next to the shift gate, under the wood trim.

remove the wood trim and check yourself. Do you get the creak if you rest your arms on the handrest?
