Crazy Navi Endorser

Crazy Navi Endorser
First of all, I admit to being completely direction challenge (that is not good since I am in the military). I took our non-navi car to go to a far-away store that I have been to a couple of times in the navi car (2000 TL).
Needless to say, I got lost…bad!! In my on defense, we move so often that I kind of get confused as to what street matches what city, but I digress.
Bottom line: If you are like me (move around a lot) than the navi option is worth every penny. Boy, what I would have paid to not have to stop an ask five different people how to find a store. I will never buy another new car without a NAV…period.

Just a word of caution
If you are challenged in the sense of direction and just plain navigating around. My best guess would be that once you get spoiled and used to getting help from the Navi, your already low "sense" would get worse. Just like using a digital watch for some. Once you go back to analog, some seem to have difficulties .
j/k:p....but I could see it happening.

navi is my friend
Honestly, allow me to humbly present myself as one who's used to navigating through urban jungles and instilled with somewhat of an innate sense of direction. I tend to get phone calls from friends just asking for directions to places. I always get assigned the navigator seat when I'm a passenger in a car. Spin me around in circles, and I can still point you which was is North. I just have a gut instinct for it; I can't quite describe it.
Even so, I decided that the navigation system was such an important feature that I just had to have it on my Acura. I don't always follow the navi's directions. I use it's directions as a rough guide, and I try to see if I can find a better shortcut. Still, it has proven its worth to me several times in unfamiliar neighborhoods and during unexpected road closures. I love the navi, and believe that it must be used in the heat of desperate road situations for the user to really develop a sense of true appreciation for it. Remember that old Acura commericial with a symphony playing Beethoven's 9th? This guy playing the drums (Timpany) was late for the performance cause of road construction so he used his Acura navi to find a different route. With the help of the trusty navi, he got to the hall just in time to play his part. This situation actually happened to me as I was late for a concert some 120 miles away from my house. I zoomed down the freeways averaging from (100-130mph), passed a cop car along the way (yes I spotted him and slowed down before he could get a radar lock), and was directed accurately to my destination just 3 minutes before time to go on stage. hehe. I love the navigation.
Despite my reliance on the navi, I can still find my way around town without it. I haven't become a naviholic, yet. The proof? Whenever I ride in my friends cars, they still ask me for the directions.
