crazy front seat problem...
Well I have never heard of this before...but I was driving today on the highway and I casually stretched back and my seat pulled up. I mean it was like I used the power seat function that moves just the front of the seat up. But it did it on its own pretty slowly. I didnt know what to think, but now it is totally loose. I mean when I accelerate I have to hold onto the steering wheel or I will tilt way back!
All I can think is maybe the hydraulics on that part leaked or went bad...I mean all of a sudden. Its too late to check now, but I will in the morning. Ill probably have to take it in I guess?
Well I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had that problem before?

wow damn... that's the first time i've heard of something like that. Don't know what you can do but... taking it to a shop/dealer to get it checked out sounds good. hope it's not too bad.

I don't think it would be hydraulics letting loose as I'm pretty sure the seats use electric motors to power them. You may have a stripped gear or something in the mechanism. Is it only the seat-back thats giving you a problem?

ok, good news...BTW a new seat from the dealer is like $1800!!!!
I looked at it again in daylight and could see one of the arms that is used to move the front of the seat up and down had broken off at the weld. It was the one closest to the door so when you get in and put extra pressure on the back right I guess it just broke the weld.
So after a few calls to local welding shops and $5 later its all fixed. The guy said he had fixed many seats with the same problem before, so if it happens to you, dont worry.
