crackling sound

I have noticed this for many months. Whenever I come to a stop, hear a crackling sound from something under the hood. First I suspect it's the tranny because once the car is stopped for longer than several seconds, the noise is gone. Or when I shift it to N or P, it's gone also. But then I notice it's making the noise at complete stop in D5 while I'm turn the steering. Completely lost, but since the car is running fine, didn't want to bother with fuking dealer. Anyone hears the same noise too?

I have similar problem, unfortunatly its intermittent and it did not show up at the dealer. My problem is when my car is in gear (D or R), and foot is on brake ( so the car idles ), sometimes you can hear metal clancking noise coming from the hood, i opened up the hood and it appears that the noise is coming from the drive belts (one of the pulleys perhaps, i can't say for sure ). The clanking noise does not come at the same frequency, sometimes it clanks few times a second, sometimes I have to wait 10 second before hearing it again. I'll have to complain again, now that I know how to reproduce it.

We are hearing the same thing I guess. Try turning your steering from side to side at full stop while in D5, the noise is there.
