Cracking muffler paint

This bothers me every time I stand behind the car... nothing's wrong with the muffler and I don't want any modded sound effects from the exhaust...so I'm not really looking for a different exhaust or new mufflers. Has anyone dealt with this?

My first guess is that I gotta paint it... if so, what temperature paint would I need? Would I need to remove the muffler to paint? Would this mean cutting/hacking and subsequent welding??? [ugh..]

thats the way to go-
either some hi temp engine enamel - sold in spray cans at parts stores everywhere, its good to 500 degrees
OR
brake caliper paint- sold in spray cans, or I suggest using the liquid version, or spray some paint into a disposable cup and use a foam brush to paint whatever
A few thin coats will make it look better than one thick drippy coat

do what i do, go buy in autozone a can of brake caliber paint, and paint it. Doesnt matter which color but if you could find in black or silver which is perfect for u then fine. But if dont, just paint it watver color and go to walmart, buy a spray can in black glossy and paint it over the first layer. It will stay longer then you expected.

As everyone else stated just get some engine paint. When you paint it make sure you wipe it down or sand it enough so that you don't have any chipping or cracks for a while.

I used black pick-up truck bed liner paint. Works great and does not chip, peel or crack.
Gives an old-school wrinkle finish too!
