Exclamation Cracked OBX Headers!

I had my OBX headers on for 5 months, and last week may car started to make loud clicking noise. PPL from this forum told me that it is most likely a exhaust leak. Took to dealer, they won't touch it, took to muffler/exhaust shop, they had problem finding it. So i let the engine cool down and i found it. It's a small crack at the weld on the rear upper center header.

What should i do? It's probabaly difficult to fix it without taking the entire header off; but i do'nt want to remove the entire thing, it's gonna cost another $150. Is it a "doable" job without taking it off? Will OBX give me a new one under warranty? What do you guys think i should do...any suggestion.

I would email OBX about that, and attach the picture...hopefully if they want to keep their name secure, they will provide you with 100% satisfaction...

if obx doesnt do any thing about it a muffler shop or a welding shop can fix that easy enough.

Dayum! I wonder how often this happens? OBX should definitely give you some satisfaction for this.

a buddy of mine had a crack in his headers, and he bought some stuff at an auto parts store that fixes cracks and leaks in headers...he said it worked great and that it was cheap too...go to your local auto parts store and look for yourself..should be your cheapest way to fill that hole up.

Warranties do not cover labor.

BTW, I would raise hell if obx doesn't do anything about it.

Another reason not to go with less expensive headers. CT is expensive, but you pay for better quality. I've heard of many problems with OBX headers, and none for CT. You always pay for what you get

Go after OBX and raise hell. If they are smart they'll know what to do

Oh really, in my book no headaches/worries/concerns is easily worth the premium. But hey, that's just me.

had mine for alsomt a year and no problems at all. Its the luck of the draw. In the beginning comptech guys had problems too, especially fitment and resonance, so dont say its just obx. Also look ath the stone headers and the fitment and resonance nightmare they have.

Hey Bigman, we'll just have to wait and see if OBX steps up. I have had absolutely no problems with Comptech customer service. In fact, I was one of the guys who had the resonance problems. Comptech arranged to have the new flex pipe section installed at no charge.

I wish you luck...I've been emailing them to step up on the ceramic coating that peeled on my headers and they won't even write back. Any suggestions as to the next step?
