Covered under warranty or no?
Alright guys.. Im kind of pissed cuz.. I just noticed that I have another bubble in one of my tires. Just last month I replaced the front drivers side tire for a bubble and now its my Rear Passenger tire that Has a bubble. And at 200 bux a tire its killing me cuz I rather spend that money on other mods. You think I can talk to my dealer about this.. since my car is only 3 months old? I mean my friends are suggesting I should, since they think its just a defective tire, but I've seen that many people get this.. and can someone tell me what a bubble is?? I see that its a bulge in the tire.. but how is it caused?
And the other thing is I use to have a 99 Accord EX and I never had ne issues with their stock michelins.. why is this happening on these?? I dont get it!!

Well I see that you are in NY and is going to get cold up there and this affects rubber in different ways as far as how much flex is going to have around that bubble, you never mentioned how big it is so I'll be very careful if I was you, and try not to drive too fast just in case of a blow.

I had to replace my two front tires about 6 months ago after they both got bubbles within a month of each other--I'm sure caused by potholes.

Just remember, tires *aren't* covered in the warranty by Acura. They have their own separate warranty from the tire manufacturer (Michelin). You should have received a separate booklet along with your owner's manual outlining the specific coverage of this warranty. Depending on the mileage, at their option, they can replace or prorate the tire. But if they believe the bubble was caused by a road hazard (like hitting a pothole) then they may not cover it.

They will have to remove the tire and look at it from the inside to determine whether the buldge was caused by a defect or a high impact.
Tires on 17" rims are really easy to damage with regards to potholes; been through one on the BMW on my wifes car already on a pothole my other cars could easily handle w/o damage.

I got 2 factory tires with bubbles in them and have been riding on them for almost 5 months now, I just moved them to the back and use them until they die. Most likely it is caused by potholes. Even if they take off the tire and examine it, they not gonna tell you that it was a defective tire, especially in the NYC area with the bad roads.
Also make sure you have enough tire pressure too. Bubble happen mostly when you hit a pothole so hard that the tire flexes all the way to where the rim and road pinch the sidewall, so more air might help, but then again it could lead to bent rim instead then.

From what Im hearing from my friends is that its very very dangerous and it can blow ne second...possibly causing death due to loss of control of vehicle. But here Im encountering peopel that ride with bubbled tires as if ... thas how Acura gave it to them like that stock. I dont know..just scary.
My plan is to get Conti's Contact Extreme for all four tires and put these michelins in the garage.. yes my garage and I didnt spell garbage wrong. My car is leased so i'll put these michelins back on the car when I turn in the lease.. since at that time I'll have about 45k miles on the car.. and Im assuming that Acura will tell me to replace the tires ne wayz. Why pay for new tires then and give it to them.. might as well enjoy them now. Not a bad idea right?

I would buy 4 new tires... you can get our size a hell of a lot cheaper than 1 or 2 of the michelins...
If you want a good place on LI... let me know... I can try to squeeze a deal out of my guy...
