Coolant Type-2
I am planning to replace my timing belt and water pump next weekend. I have green coolant from looking under the radiator cap. I am going to buy the Type-2 coolant from Acura or Honda dealer. But they are telling me that the coolant is blue not green. I am thinking my green coolant came from the factory.
What should I do here? Drain all the green coolant out of the system and put the blue coolant in? Confused on what direction I should take here.

When you do the timing belt and water pump you should drain it all any way. Just buy the oem coolant.

there is a vendor with the complete t belt water pump and correct pullies and all belts package deal list on gen2 and 3 threads- wholesalepartsguy at acura santa rosa ca- thread- Show love for Valentines
its a deal well below what they charge customers in the shop for the same parts~
for coolant: use Honda dealer premix- get 2 gallons
some people use aftermarket brands that say `ACURA approved` on them--its something about silicones or something that we cant use,, but not all are approved- just read the back
ck your coolant hoses for softness or soft spots, might throw in a new thermostat for g.p. and of course seafoam/oil change and seafoam manifold and gas- new spark plugs if not already done
In my experience there will be at least a few valves out of limits and causing reduced performance and mileage- worth the labor to have them checked and adjusted as needed
Clean oil helps that service, I seafoam oil-drive and change oil before valve adjust-- so its really clean surfaces and ready for exact setting

I am having a shop doing the work on replacing the timing belt. They are going to replace the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, drive belts & thermostat. I told them I would supply the thermostat & coolant. Since Acura doesn't seem to have the green coolant I guess I will go with the blue coolant and tell the shop to drain the radiator & engine block with the drain plug in order to get most of the old coolant out.
I could buy the Valentine deal kit but I don't know if the shop will warranty their work since I am supplying the parts. I will have to call the shop on Monday and check with the owner.
Is there a DIY thread on valve adjustment?
