Convince me to keep my 99 TL

Yeah so I work at a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep dealership and we just got in a trade-in a 04 Maxima 3.5 SE (black). The thing looks awesome. It has 69,000+ miles, has navi, heated basically everthing (like steering wheel and such), it has that orangish/camel like colored interior that I actually really like. The thing growls as loud as my TL and my TL has a short ram, but besides those points my 99 TL-P has 118,000 now. Is there any reason why I should say no and keep my TL? My dad isn't being that flexible with getting a different car. So what are the reason why I should stay pat? Please let me know.

You are young, drive it until it dies and save money in the process.

A year from now you're just gonna want something else anyway. There's more to life than having the nicest car around. Save some of that money for something further down the line....like a house.

You'll have a lot of fun with the Maxima, my 3.5 Altima was forced into retirement too soon and it was quick on its rubbers, and yes it'll be slightly faster than your TL, they have a good forum such as this one, and it comes with projectors.

But....the TL is just so sexy when modified, has a better interior and purrs with a few mods, aftermarket parts for the Max are up there in price and its heavier and bulkier than the TL.

IMO if you really want to let go of the TL, look into a newer one, I myself enjoy my 03 S more than my 04 3.5 Altima (and it had a better interior compared to the Max to boot.) But if you're not in a hurry, fuck it, stick with the TL and get a 2 door when you're ready, thats what I'm doing, as soon as I get out of college I'm getting something in stick and RWD (mmmmm NSX ) or AWD (mmm Evo and STi )

Hope this might help, good luck.

If by Chi-town you mean Chicago, I'll drag race you at Gateway in East STL; that is, IF you keep the TL.

Keep it...because it's HOT
You'll save money
You should drive it until it dies, which means you'll take it to the grave with you since it's and Acura
You have a bunch invested in the TL as it is

Around $13,500. I'm glad I thought about over again cuz I've spent alot of money fixing things that need work on my TL. My 99 could last a very long time if I just keep doing regular tune-ups and fixing stuff that needs to be fixed. Plus, I know the guy I bought it from and he takes really good care of his cars. He also bought it new so there are no previous owners but him. With that Maxima who knows what the guy was like. The color was really dirty when we cleaned it. It's sparkles now, but maybe that's not a good enough indication. I'll stay in the Acura family.

That does seem cheap.

I'm fightin the urge to give up my TL-S too. Don't think I can for another year -- saving for marriage + house. I want an LGT...my woman already has an '05...I might just take her when we get married and start modding when the warranty runs out

I would say get the maxima but then I saw your age then thought you have plenty of time to get another car so just enjoy the one you have now since you have already put a lot of time and money into it

Acura TL, hands down.

1) you stated that the previous owner took good care of the car.
2) you've spent quite a bit money on mods.
3)"My dad isn't being that flexible with getting a different car"
4) reliability
5) ACURA TL IS BETTER LOOKING COMPARED TO A MAXIMA! lol...

Is that $13,500 before or after accounting for your TL trade-in value?

That's the price the used car manager offered it to me for by itself. It is stickered at $17,995 but he knocked it down to $13,500 because I know him really well. He offered me $9,372 for my TL.

Keep your TL the insurance for that Maxima is goin' to be sky high. Your 17 and I know you don't want a car payment that soon. The money you may amoth for that Maxima could be used for MODS! Keep the TL. I have a 99 and I love mine.

I can see that you're really not wanting to give up this oppurtunity. But, trust me, there will be other, and better times. If you want something different, get the damn mods!
Ok, you know what? better idea. give me 5 reasons why you bought the TL in the first place. ill talk to you after that.
