Condition at 100k+ miles?

I'm looking to buy a 3G and put 20-25k highway miles per year on the car. How many of you 2G owners are now at 100,000+ miles and what's the condition of your car? Any major repairs to speak of?

Thanks for the input. I'd love to buy this car, but I need to know that it will last me 150,000 miles and beyond.

Engine wise, you should never have a problem. It's not exactly the best method of judging the 3G by asking 2G people, though, as the cars are totally different. Some of the 3G people are near or over 50k now - search around.

I don't disagree. I'm just trying to get a feel for long-term build quality.

Sounds like the same stuff as my wife's Accord: clock light, rotors (I'm hard on 'em), and the ol' Honda EGR valve problems.

123k original tranny, rattle free, replaced one wheel bearing recently, cost 186.00 so not major. Other than that it has been trouble free other than normal wear/tear items.

2G here at 202,000 miles and still nearly perfect in every way, first tranny went at 164K, second tranny still OK. One motor mount, one door handle, that's about it!

122k, i am the second owner and put 10k of it on her. 1 tranny, power steering pump, front seat belts replaced and maybe a few other things before i got her under warranty.

i did to her since i got her - new brake pads, rotors, lines, new shocks, new fog lights, new clock and light, a defroster fuse, new wiper blades, touch up paint and the switch to synthetic oil.

other than that, the only thing on my mind like everyone else is the stupid tranny, mine seems fine, knock on wood.

no squeaks, rattles or whatever.

108K and I've had nothing go except the tranny at 80K, replaced rear vew mirror and reoccurring rotor problems. Absolutely no other problems.

102k miles - original tranny, cleaned the EGR port once - just noticed the rearview mirror doesnt dim as well as it used too. Im also about to replace the brakes and rotors for the first time. other than that, great car and many people think its a 03 at least (they obviously dont know that the front end is different) because of the ride quality and overall condition

I get the same responses because I keep my car perfectly detailed every chance I get, everything is in great shape and the car is and sounds powerful. I love it! Best value still.

131,000 on my 2003 TL-S. Besides 2 Transmissions, it has been pretty much maintenance crap. I did my timing belt and water pump and top engine cleaning (because of carbon build up in throttle body) at 115k, struts at 125k, endlink bushings at 130k. Besides the trannies..... this car has been great.

Tranny would be your biggest concern as the reliability of the 5ATs are still questionable...

All I can say is change the fluid every 15K and hope for the best; don't be surprised if you have to have it rebuilt every 150K...
