Computer
Computer
I read a post about resetting the computer by disconnecting the negative side of the battery. Does this affect the anti-theft function (is there one) of the radio? Thank you.

I believe you're actually referring to a post from about 2 years ago (ast least that the original post) where it was stated that you could pull fuse 6 on the driver's side panel and press the brake to reset the unit.
It's my belief that this does not reset the unit, and here's why. When you pull the fuse and press the brake pedal, the computer shows that it still contains its calibration for smog tests. Only when you remove power at the battery does this setting go away.
Refer to page 317 of your manual (2002 manual). The way to see if the computer has been reset (as far as these codes go) is to put the key in the ignition, turn it to run, and wait 20 seconds. If the check engine light blinks, the computer's been reset and is not yet smog calibrated. If it simply goes out, it hasn't changed.
(my pleasure, Kent!)
