Comptech springs question

Have any of you had problems with the struts bottoming out after lowering your car?

Never, ever has it bottomed out. Not even with four people, 4 sets of golf clubs and driving over speedbumps...

You should be pretty safe with comptech springs. I even have a bodykit and it still have enough clearance.

Damn! now that's a test! My bud is building a 300ZX Turbo road racing car to take to VIR. He keeps telling me the only way to go is coilovers. I keep telling him my car is a daily driver and the cost is way too much for coilovers.

Then he told me I'd probably bottom out the struts since their internal piston will be dropping 1.5 - 1.75 inches. He told me the best place for the internal piston is in the center of the strut. He suggested that if I put the Comptech springs on that I install shorter struts. The biggest problem I see with that is how the hell would you know which ones to use?

I see Juniorbean installed a shorter set. Personally, I don't really want to spend the extra money. I want to put the Comptech springs, sway bars, and a set of 18" wheels on without doing any other major mods to the suspension....well, maybe the camber kit if I see my tires getting chewed up.

I too have the full Acura bodykit. I rarely have more than 2 other people in the car and I avoid speedbumps like the flu.

In your collective expert opinions, I should be OK using the stock struts?

Thanks.

No, even with four people in the car. The worst I've seen is that the rake the springs introduced is flattened a bit.
