comptech springs
what about the h&r oem springs?..
it looks like there is less of a lower onthe oem h&r.
i think these are what i want?..
i just want to lower the car a little...
i think the COMPTECH is too much.

As for the H&R's, the OE's only drop about .75" front/rear... maybe a little lower after it settles. The H&R Sports drop about 1.75" front and rear.
It depends what you're looking for....If you're looking for the best ride... the H&R OE springs are the best b/c the drop is minimal. Personally I don't think it's worth it. If you're looking for a combination of ride and drop.... Comptech's will give you the best drop with the closest to stock ride. The H&R Sports give you an even drop.. but the ride is ever so slightly more harsh then the Comptech.
Feel free to do a search as these springs have been compared many, many times. I also have the H&R Sports, so for pics, click the link in my sig....

I have OE springs as well....at first with my old 18's....the wheel gap was filled in pretty good....but after i bent those(DAMN NYC POTHOLES) i got 17's and the gap just got huge in my eyes...and to answer ur question...yes the gap in the rear is a little bigger than the front....IMO, with 17's i would have gone with a comptech drop....im not liking my OE drop anymore....anyone wanna sell me there comptech springs?:P

but I don't drive like a nut. My previous car was tucked with 18's
. I drive careful avoiding potholes. How much do you want to sell those OE's for? milage? condition?
the comptech drop seems like alot.
1.75.
i measured the wheel well clearance.
there's not much room left after lowering 1.75..
maybe up front, but the rear is too close.
IMHO.
i like the H&R OE, but it seems like nobody likes the H&R OE drop.
i am going to keep stock size tires..
there's a big difference between .75 and 1.75.
i can't help but think the the h&r OE .75 drop would make
a big difference..

I have Comptechs. Do a search for more threads on this, but I: Do not rub, do not bottom out, do not hit speedbumps...I have 18's. The ride is perfectly fine, meaning, more sporty than stock but still not harsh enough to cause rattles, etc...
hey r10apple one question, how come your car looks like it nose dives in the picture? from the looks of it, the car is higher at the back then the front. Wouldn't you want the height to be almost identical all around the car?
oh ok. Damn I like the look of the H & R better then. Tatewaki has his car lowered w/ H&R and I like his drop a lot better. I find it makes the car look much sportier when it's evened out.
This is of course IMO.

Advantage CT: can clear everything with kit, no camber issue
Con CT: drop may not be noticable, still pretty big wheel gap
Advantage H/R sports: even drop, sportier handling
Con H/R: need to be careful with kit, few experience camber issue (most can be corrected by alignment)

so.
i want lower a stock 99 tl.
i want a sportier ride.
i plan to upgrade brakes.
i plan new struts.
it needs an alignment... now.
would i be happy with a h&r oe spring...
or the comptech sport.

I've had Comptech for a while and the ride is still great with stock shocks and tires wearing fine. Only thing is I measured the drop at 2" (front) and only 7/8" (rear). Gap is about the same (1-2 fingers) front & rear.
Getting a little tired of the "rack" look and thinking how to lower the rear more w/o gettting a harsh ride from the rear.
Maybe get just rear H&R sport (1.75") and have a hybrid (CT front & H&R rear).

the comptechs remind me of intrax's. they tryed to make a car low but still retain a soft ride. they also had that rake look. most of the time, the intrax springs were way toooo soft. i wonder if it's the same dilemma here?????????
OE in front stock in back
I believe someone in this forum talked about having HR OE in the front and leaving the back stock in order to have an even drop. Will this present any problems? If anybody has done this, please post a pic.
