Comptech Springs = Eibach Pro Springs?

I went to a local performance shop today, and a technician there swore to me that Comptechs were really just re-marked Eibach's. Is this true? I'm looking to get springs soon and saving myself $60 would be nice

I thought the Comptech's dropped .8" while the Eibach dropped 1.5" or something like that.

Maybe the tech meant that Comptech has their springs made by Eibach. Some say that Comptech are outsourced, and we have had NOBODY disclaim that. Would be a smart move, anyway. But, like you said... saving money. IF... if Comptech does outsource from Eibach, how can Comptech justify the $60 dollars more that they cost than the Pro-Kits????

...comps are about 1.5/1.25 on tl-s the o.e.'s dont drop the published .75...1.0/(1.25-1.5) and comptech does out source there springs...to whom dont know...but even if they did seend to eiabach.they're not rebadged prokits.as they drop differently than the prokit...

IMO- Comptech probably does outsource their springs from Eibach. Eibach probably just makes them to comptech's spec. Comptech can easily add $60 to their ticket because of course they have to make some money too. Plus they so call claim to make springs specifically for the TL/CL.

My $0.02

Bottom line: Comptech makes their own springs!
They used to outsource their springs to Eibach years ago, but now they make their own! I spoke with Shad (Comptech's lead engineer) and Bob (their sales manager) over a year ago about this very subject.

You beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing. All the confusion stems from the fact that Comptech used to outsource their spring manufacture, but not anymore. Tell your mechanic that he needs to update his info.

oh really...well i talked to mike B about buying just the rears...because i didnt like the fact that the H&Ro.e.'s rear were so low....he said he couldnt do it because the way they buy them from the company that makes them...whos name he also would not reveal...and BTW the machine that makes springs is SEVERAL MILLION DOLLARS....to my knowledge there are only three in the world and comptech does not own one of them so tell your mechanic to update his facts...

...1.75/1.5 would mean there would be no gap between the tire and fender so you too either got the lowest spring rates comp ever put out,...measured when you had 4 people in the car a full tank of gas and a system in the trunk...or,someone cut your bumpstops ..alot
