Comptech Spring Noise
Comptech Spring Noise
When I took my car in for the 15K service the dealer said they wouldn't help me out with the noise coming from my "after market" springs.
I tried doing a search on this and found nothing. Any advice on fixing the creaking noise?

I'm surprised that your Comptechs produce the "squeaking" noise, as they don't drop your car as much as my H&R race springs do. Well, I have that problem, because my H&R springs drop 2.2" front, 1.75" rear. My "squeak" noise only comes out from the rear only when I go through a bump or a pothole. Front springs OK, no noise. And it's a metallic sounding squeak. What this noise is the spring's coils compressing against each other. My problem was solved by adding spring isolators. It's a tight fitting piece of abestos (?) or some other type of material that looks like half a tube split open all along one side, and you wrap each piece around each coil on the spring. Think of a bun as a isolator, and the spring is the hotdog, but is a tight fit. Presto! No squeak noise.
its one of two things...
1)its most likely your sways squeaking, creaking instead of your springs...
2)its your chassis flexing due to a stiffer suspension setup than stock, which makes other materials in the car flex, which would make that sound...

Are you sure the spring is seated right? If it sounds like a rubber rubbing squeaking, it could be the bump stop is making noise. It happened to me before. It would squeak when I push the car down repeatedly at the corner that's making noise. Try that.
Nothing a little grease won't help....Could be the spring's aren't seated properly...or the rubber pieces you put between the springs that are compressed may not be on properly, and it's metal rubbing against metal..
